This review is from: Famous Brand 27" LCD Monitor 5 ms 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI TSS-27X11 LED
Pros:
Great picture (with current setting). The colors are vibrant and the blacks and whites stand out quite well.
Cons:
Bent aluminum frame - Took monitor out of box and noticed the top plastic frame was seperated. Snapped it back in but then noticed there was a lot of play in the black frame on top. Finally realized the aluminum frame on both top and bottom were bent convex. The top was worse so I put steady force (Yes, Star Wars force) in two places and bent it back, not with the intentions of full straight, that would have been pushing my luck. What I notice now is when moving your head back and forth while monitor is off, your reflection warps a bit when passing over about mid point on top. Cluncky buttons to make adjustments, bad purple rings in 'photo' mode.
Overall Review:
To get a picture (good for desktop and gaming) I was satisfied with, I had to mess with the settings for a while, finally settling on the 'text' picture setting, but I didn't exactly set it to that, I had to fiddle with it to change the colors to 'standard'. The next thing I know it's on 'text'. The other modes usually looked like crud either on the desktop or in game, or both. The 'photo' mode looked great until I started seeing purple rings around the sunset from desktop wallpaper, and I noticed it in Dead Space 3 when looking at a light. The strange purple hue would also be all over the ground/area the video game 'light' would be illuminating. I swapped out on the fly with another 22" HP LCD and it looked as it should (not purple) . Overall despite having to bend the frame back and 'settle' with the fact only one picture setting will ever work for me, I am satisfied with how it looks at this point and found it worth keeping, not to mention I lucked out with getting the right power supply. I'm sure 4 out of 5 of these things are fine. People are just not paying enough attention. Probably trying to text while they box these things up.
