Pros:

Tuner scans quickly, and identifies free ClearQAM channels offered by cable company. It supports WMC (but requires an additional channel scan and will mess up custom channel lineups [WMC's fault, not the tuner]) I am currently using it as a UPNP device in VLC, AND streaming to an onkyo receiver in a part of the house that our cable signal could not reach.

The tuner is VERY good at rejecting noise from a cable modem connected on the same node in my coax distribution system (my other tuners had to be placed behind a bandstop filter or they would show artifacts on digital channels).

Cons:

This unit stream uncompressed mpeg streams at up to 20mbps per tuner. It WILL saturate most wireless routers, or 100mbps lans if all three tuners are hot at the same time.

If you have gigabit and / or 802.11 AC (or fast N) you won't have a problem.

Sometimes the tuners seem to miss-lock or lock slightly off frequency and this causes problems displaying content, it will stutter, and jump even with 100% signal quality. This problem went away once the unit warmed up (possibly an LO [local oscillator] issue) and after a firmware update.

Overall Review:

Cable card is nice, but I only use this gizmo for our 30 clearQAM stations.

UPDATE THE FIRMWARE (go to their site and download the software for windows, don't use the link from the tuner's web portal), upon installation it should show a screen about a firmware update. Along with a nicer web interface, the update resolved some cold-boot issues, and improved scanning speed as well as channel labeling.
