Pros:
Painless hardware and software installation. Vendor website offers up-to-date drivers and companion software. No hassle install and operation on Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit OS. WinTV v7.2 (upgraded to v8) was easy to install/configure and provides a much cleaner interface compared to ArcSoft TotalMedia. WinTV provides a good alternative to Windows Media Center. Plenty hardware accessories are included.
Cons:
Minor – Jumping to different channels without remote takes some effort.
Overall Review:
Needed to replace my diehard DIAMOND TVW650PCIE ATI TV Wonder HD 650 Combo after enabling “Above 4G Decoding (Available if the system supports 64-bit PCI decoding)” on my motherboard. The outdated drivers simply would not function with my other PCIe cards. The image quality, smoothness, and solid software provide a good option for those who cannot use Windows Media Center.
