Excellent choice for 4k and VR 06/10/2016
This review is from: ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 FE 8GB GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card Founders Edition GTX1080-8G
Pros:
I get about 45 FPS on an ASUS MG28UQ Monitor 4k Monitor in the middle of a town of 40+ players on Elder Scrolls Online with settings set on Ultra-High. Everywhere else in the game I nearly get 58-60 on a 60 Hertz 4k Monitor. Rock solid frames.
The card is physically about two-thirds the thickness of the Asus Nvidia 680 GTX and a half inch or so shorter in length. Which is nice to have a little extra space available.
Cons:
When playing on a 1920 x 1080 monitor at first, the GTX 1080 only did a few frame rates better than my ASUS 680 GTX, but would not recommend buying it unless you plan to do 4k or VR. This card is a beast in specs. It handles 4k 60 hertz like nothing on Elder Scrolls Online Ultra-High graphics.
Overall Review:
If you have some average hardware for a monitor and other computer specs this card will only give you so much room grow; however, if you plan on going 4k or higher for gaming with a monitor or VR this is definitely the card you have been waiting for.
To add, some older cards could do 4k gaming; however, at only 30 FPS. This card can do 8k monitor at 60 FPS (60 Hertz).
