CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply 12/03/2016
This review is from: CORSAIR CX Series CX430 430W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Power Supply
Pros:
Quiet
Basic Power supply
Great for power supply replacement in older systems
Cons:
Not modular
Cables are stiff near connectors
Overall Review:
I bought this for a basic system build to power:
Gigabyte H170 gaming 3
Intel 6700K 3.5 Ghz
16Gb Gskill memory
Samsung 850 SSD
Seagate 1 Tb
Asus DVD/RW combo
*** This power supply is for basic use only and is good to replacement in older systems.
It only has a 6 pin PCI Plug and one 8 Pin CPU plug.
IT IS NOT MEANT FOR OVERCLOCKING OR SERIOUS GAMING!
Many are complaining that you can't overclock with this... DUH.
It is meant for a basic system and has molex connectors to power older PATA drives and fans. I may be pushing the limit to power a 6700K but I am not running a PCI graphics card.
I built it for someone that is only wanting a system for surfing the net and maybe streaming music or movies.
IF I wanted to overclock or game ... I Would probably have PCI Graphics card and many peripherals connected. In that case anything smaller than 650W would be a waste of time or just cause problems down the road.
IF YOU ARE A GAMER OR ENTHUSIAST??? You would be ignorant to purchase a 430W PS for your gaming tower and your friends would probably be scratching their heads or laughing!
*** Maybe you might want to use a Power supply calculator when building but understand they all tend to highball the actual power required.
