Will this work with an ipod touch?

I've used this item for over 3 months, and it charges my 1080p  Mobius dash cam and my Nokia Lumia 800 Windows phone using a car charger splitter.  The FM transmitter works best on 88.1 frequency.  The only complaint I have is the bluetooth does not work with my phone; but I don't make/receive calls in the car anyway-that's what voice mail is for.  I don't have any Apple products, however I used my Zune HD mp3 player and my Windows phone to transmit music to the car radio with no problems.  You should be able to use any MP3 player or phone to transmit music over the FM transmitter.

Question 2

Is this compatible with a Samsung Galaxy S3 I-747 (AT&T) I did not see it on the compatible devices list and was just wondering if anyone owns this and uses an S3 with it?

I have a Galaxy S3 (albeit the international version: i9300) and this GOgroove works perfectly with it via Bluetooth.  Personally, I don't think you'll have issues with the I-747.  Good luck!

Does this play my music from my Iphone that I have downloaded?

I love this device, use it with my iPhone and it works great. You can listen to iTunes as well as play other audio files through your car speakers, such as voicemail, etc. Once it's paired, you can connect and play music without ever taking it out of your pocket or purse. Using the controls on the device to play, pause, skip, etc. works great as well. I like my music loud and used to miss phone calls all the time but because the music is coming through your phone it automatically mutes your music and even plays the ring tone through the speakers. You can answer, hands free right on the device and it automatically resumes music when you hang up. The wired connection will get you the best sound quality but you will get hum from the engine if you connect with the aux connection AND use the usb charger on the device. I just use the radio and a regular power port charger. One caveat, you do have to power the device off when you leave your car, if the power port it's plugged into doesn't shut off when turn the car off. If you walk away with the power on, it will NOT reconnect to your phone until you power cycle the FlexSmart device.

can you use the mini jack out to connect directly to aux input of ready, instead of using fm transmitter?

I don't have an AUX plug on my 2005 Chevy factory stereo.  If you have an AUX input on your car stereo, then you can plug your "male-to-male" audio cord directly from phone/mp3 player to car stereo.  Just turn your stereo to "AUX."  And you can still use the USB connector to charge your device while simultaneously playing audio directly thru the car stereo via AUX plug.  My FM transmitter works great, however I experience occasional hiss/static.  Audio will always be much better if you can plug directly into car stereo via AUX plug.  For those that don't have an AUX plug on their factory stereos, this product works great (you just have to turn the volume all the way up on your device).

Question 5

Could this be used as a mic to stream just speech through car audio? Need a device that will help a passenger on the third row to better hear what a passenger on the first row is saying.

Theoretically yes, you would have to convert the mic from xlr to 1/8in and plug it into the line in on the transmitter. But the problem with doing that for all of your car is that you wouldn't be able to use the mic because the amount of feedback you would get would be deafening. You may be able to turn the fade of the speakers all the way to the back and get a super cardioid mic (like a shure sm58) for who ever is talking but the mic would only pick up one person at a time because the sm58 is only made to pick up noises from about 8 inches away. And I beleive they are kind of expensive like (90$) but look them up.

While taking a call, does the conversations happen over the cars speakers? I know that the built in mic is there, but the caller is heard over the speakers or is there a speaker in this device?

This unit has a microphone.... And the sound you hear from your caller is always heard through your car speakers and the volume is controlled through both your vehicle and the device.

How to get this to PAIR when I get in to my car, and pair my over-the-ear bluetooth back, when I leave my vehicle?

I'm not sure what priority your phone will use to pair if both your over-the-ear bluetooth and the FlexSMART X2 are available. However, the FlexSMART does have an on/off button (it's protruding on the front of the lower "charger" portion of the device).

So, you can turn it off, and (in theory) your phone should fall back to just your over-the-ear bluetooth. When you power the FlexSMART back on, you may need to manually select it again (or maybe your phone has some priority order where you can select the FlexSMART to be prefered).

Is this item new?

From what I have been able to find online, this is the 2nd version of this product. There is a newer, 3rd version, but from all the reviews I have read elsewhere, the new 3rd version seems to have a marked decrease in quality when compared to this one.

I have personally used this for about a month now, and it has been rock solid. Currently using with an iPhone 5s. Can confirm that bluetooth connectivity works without a hitch. Not only plays music through the FM channel, but can conduct phone calls and GPS navigation as well. Basically all audio output of the phone can be routed through this FM broadcaster.

Have been very satisfied with this purchase.

Question 9

Is this only for in-car use or can it be used around the house as headphones/bluetooth for speaking on phone?

this unit works very well for its intended purpose.  But to answer your question: in theory, you could use it as you suggested.  However, the flexible "neck" as they call it is required to be attach to the unit in order for it to operate.  Therefore it would be awkward to carry it around.  Also, it can only be plugged into a cigarette lighter outlet connected to a 12 Volt source. that would also be an obstacle to using it around the house.  Hope this helps.  Paul

I believe so, it will work with any phone that can pair with a Bluetooth device for audio output.
