Recommended For

• People who want a portable 14-inch laptop for everyday work and streaming, with a touchscreen for tapping and scrolling but no need to use the laptop as a tablet.
• Home or office users who connect peripherals or an external display at a desk; the model family includes USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI connections.
• Users who prefer ChromeOS and need a clamshell for typing, web apps, and routine multitasking rather than specialist desktop software.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• For school assignments or everyday office work, users can write documents, update spreadsheets, research in browser tabs, and switch between web apps; reviews of the Chromebook Plus 514 family describe this kind of productivity multitasking as a suitable fit.
• For remote classes or work meetings, users can join video calls and handle routine meeting tasks; Acer highlights this model’s call features and microphones for clearer voice pickup and reduced background noise.
• For watching online lectures, YouTube, or other streaming video between tasks, the Chromebook Plus 514’s 14-inch screen supports a practical personal viewing experience; reviewers have also tested video playback as a typical use for this laptop family.
• When presenting in a classroom or meeting room, users can connect the laptop to an external display through HDMI to show slides, documents, or browser content on a larger screen.
• For browsing, reading, or navigating web pages, users can tap and scroll directly on the touchscreen instead of relying only on the trackpad; it remains a standard clamshell laptop rather than a convertible tablet.
