Pros: Fits in my hand well. 4 speakers have good sound. Color palate is better than my old tablet
Cons: Battery life is very disappointing. 2.5 hours average on a charge when only periodically running games like clash of clans and with screen at 1/3 brightness. Website says up to 8.5 hrs of video playback which I cannot even get close to. If I dim the screen down to lowest setting and don't run any games or other applications I can get roughly a little over 4 hours of battery life which stinks if you are not near a power outlet. Tablet hung up on me twice during the first two days and I had to do a hard reboot both times. Sent tablet back to service department to look at and they returned it saying there was nothing wrong with it and the battery was working properly! Also noticed that the new Intel processor is not as fast as I expected. Our Samsung tablet with it's older processor has no lag or delays on games where the Predator does have occasional lags and delays in game play. I also noticed that when you wake up the tablet, it takes a few seconds for the wifi to come on and connect. This probably saves battery life but is rather irritating. The tablet does get warm at the end where the camera is located...much more than our other tablets but it is not uncomfortable to hold. Even though the color pallet is good, the screen itself is dim and dull. There are no contrast or other screen controls except for the brightness level. The service department was very unprofessional. I sent a letter with the tablet letting them know the details about the two lockups and the method I used to conduct a hard reboot. I also had screen shots from the battery app showing the disappointing battery life which appeared to be due to the screen consuming energy not the applications. The work ticket simply said "battery charges and drains normally. Maximum battery run time is 8.5 hours, and will be less for demanding use such as gaming or video consumption. Experienced no system hang ups during testing. Tablet passed function tests. No trouble found after 31 hours of testing". I don't understand how they can make those battery comments when the Acer power management application shows that the screen is hogging almost 70% of the battery life while the heaviest application only used 2.7% and the operating system was less than 5%.
Overall Review: Unless they come up with a fix on the battery life I cannot in good faith recommend this tablet to others. The screen, disappointing performance of the processor, wake up time for wifi and heat generation are all irritating but not deal breakers. I just wish the darn tablet didn't require at least two or more full charges in order to get through the day! One last note...Customer service was very responsive and agreed that something was not quite right with the tablet. They helped me set up the service ticket.
