Pocket-size, Radiant DisplayUltra-light and portable, the K Series is convenient to bring anywhere! The projector casts high lumens brightness so you get vibrant visuals and better color saturation thanks to LED technology. The long lifespan of the LED lamp translates to big savings, while the absence of hazardous mercury or halogen gases means safer use for you and the environment.
Effective, Mobile UsabilityThe K Series may be small, but it is big in performance. The high contrast ratio enables projection of detailed text and visuals from a long distance on a large screen; Acer SmartFormat technology offers complete multi-format support for both 4:3 displays and widescreens; and with Acer Instant Pack technology, you can unplug the power cord right after the projector is turned off, and rest assured that no damage will be caused.

Pros: - size, weight (tiny and light!)
- bright image, even with moderately lit room (2x60W bulbs, ~10' away)
- LED lamp = 20,000 - 30,000h rating? insane!
- truly designed for portability, included carrying bag is very nice
- nice little remote, havent actually used it yet tho so can't comment on that.
- easy to navigate menus
- SVGA looks great, text on ps3 menu & in game (so far, black ops...) and output from netbook both are readable from 10' (and i have terrible vision too...)
- good variety of input connections (check specs for info)
- great for TV (vga out from desktop w/ hauppauge card), ps3 (hdmi), videos (from comp), all flash drives i've tried play video just fine, no noticeable lag, also worked from SD
Cons: - pretty much every review here lists "no audio out".
yes, it's true: no audio out. if you're playing a movie from a flash drive or sd, you're outta luck.
otherwise, get a nice pair of portable speakers for presentations, or just use external speakers for your home movies / games.
- along the same lines, the internal speaker is not the absolute worst, but you won't get blown away.
there is a volume adjustment in the settings menu, make sure it's 100% if you're forced to use it :)
Overall Review: 5 *s, despite no audio out. Why? Because I dont see myself ever being in a situation where I'll be forced to play a movie from an sd card / flash drive. Honestly, I probably would never have used the audio out even if it were there. Also, if "no audio out" is a serious con for you, trust me: the pros FAR outweigh the cons in this case. You can't ask for a better value, as far as i can tell.
Overall Review: I have only had this projector for a short while and love it however, I feel that im having an issue with my flash drive and movies. I have a OCZ 4Gb flash drive with a 3.3Gb movie on it that will play, but only at about 3-5 frames per second. It plays fine on my PC and XBOX so I know its not the flash drive. If anyone esle that owns this projector has seen similar issues, any info would be helpful for a solution. From what I've read and reviews I've watched, it should be able to handle a movie with smooth playback. ACER, if you read these reviews you're welcome to chime in aswell. Your phone based tech support is a joke.
Pros: Incredibly small, yet bright. Size is like four decks of cards, stacked 2-by-2. I tested it out by projecting across 20 feet to make 8-foot tall image on my wall, using a low level of ambient light -- certainly far from pitch black. Looked fine. Pixels were about 1/4 inch in size at that magnification, but viewed from 5-10 feet away, they were not noticable. I did not find the fan noise distracting with soundtrack playing on low volume. I can't wait to try this in the office with lights out in the daytime. Packaging was amazing (see below). Nice selection of included cords. This is my first projector, because I was trying to find something decent for less than half a grand. Jackpot!
Cons: Odd range of video modes? I think someone said it was 858x600 native. I initially hooked it up to my Samsung NC10 netbook, which can only do 800x600 and 1024x768 on its internal monitor, and I couldn't clone or even switch to external display until I manually changed netbook's display mode to 800x600. Then it worked fine. Perhaps the aspect ratio difference was a problem, but I didn't fiddle with it for more than 5 minutes so perhaps I'm overlooking something. I was too happy ogling at the bright picture to read through the quick start guide.
Overall Review: It came in the most meticulous packaging I've ever seen. Acer must employ OCD people to pack these things! Example: VGA cables had protective plastic caps on the ends, covered by neatly taped styrofome gauze, tied neatly with a twist tie, and all the cables were in their own little compartment inside the very durable box. Virtually indestructible. Unwrapping the projector is like opening a Russian Mamushka doll. First, you're amazed the box is so small, like shoebox size. Then you open it and see the cables on one side, and lots of airpack on the other. Remove the airpack, and there's the carrying case for the projector. Where's the projector? Why, inside the case! So it gets smaller, and smaller, and smaller as you get to the core of this great Father's Day gift. Newegg rocks for putting this on special. If you've been waiting to do home theater for cheap, run, don't walk, to the shopping cart for this one.
Pros: Find me a better mini projector for the money... no?.. cuz there isn't one. This is BY FAR the most functional most portable mini projector in the market today..Period. It fits in the palm of your hand, has a 200 lumens, LED light source that lasts 30,000 hours and, is outfitted with HDMI, yup.
I have this being thrown up on a 92" 16:9 Accuscreen from about 13ft away. Its Beautiful. I bought a cheap tripod and an off-brand 15ft HDMI cable that runs to my receiver. After about 500 hours of use its just barely broken in. By far the coolist thing I've bought in a long time.
Cons: 2 cons:
-There are no audio outs for portable speakers
-Fan speed set to high is a little loud
Overall Review: Keep in mind that even though its an LED projector, its still 200 lumens. Its designed for a dark room so don't expect anything spectacular at 2pm on a sunny day. If you want something that you can hook up to almost anything and allows you to be completely portable this is the one.
Pros: awesome, though not quite as small as i´d hoped... will not fit in your pocket. However the image quality is higher than i´d dared to dream. It is not quiet when running, but not really noisy either.
Cons: Built in speakers are an absolute last resort only... my eee pc has better speakers.
Overall Review: an incredible peice of technology. I was never going to buy a projector because of the cost, worry, and hassle of replacing bulbs but that will never be an issue with this thing since I could theoretically leave it turned on for the next 3 yearswithout burning out the LEDs.
Overall, I like, but fan is annoying.1/13/2011 4:27:19 PM
Pros: decent picture considering resolution, good color, portable, tripod mount, LED lamp.
Cons: FAN. I don't think it's a matter of being in my personal annoying range. I think, empirically, this thing has a fan which is exceedingly loud. Even though 200 lumens is better than average in this projector class, I find myself wanting more brightness for my 65 inch image in a completely dark room.
Overall Review: Product is mostly as advertised. I think I would gladly accept a larger product in exchange for quieter cooling system. I'm assuming AFFORDABLE, LED based HD projectors are not too far off.
Pros: Compact. Nice Colors. Long Bulb Life. HDMI. I got this after trying one of the cheapo (rio) projectors. The K11 puts out a pretty decent picture. I've got it about 13 feet back and am throwing up around a 95 inch pciture. I have it hooked up to a DVD recorder with a digital tuner and HDMI output. Movies are good, regular cable channels are OK and the QAM digital channels are good. I've only had it for 3 weeks but I'm really loving it for football. You will need a darkened room for best results, but it doesn't have to be totally dark. I think it will work great with my HD Cable box.
Cons: No headphone jack. Fan is a little noisy but no worse than other projectors. I haven't tried it in a bigger room but I think the maximum size picture it will put up is around 100 inches. You will need a darkened room for the big picture but I'm not sure that is a draw back. Remote is tiny.
Overall Review: So far I'm loving it. I thought it would be something I could pull out to watch a ballgame or a movie on the weekend, but now I'm trying to figure out how I can set it up for everyday use. If you are going to get a projector you will need a good sized dedicated space to really enjoy it I think. I also think this is a good starter projector and I'm glad I took the plunge. My other TV is a 50 inch plasma so this is an upgrade picture size wise.
Pros: TINY! Very portable... I've been waiting for a decent LED projector to hit the market, and this seems to be the first in it's price/performance range. Not quite as bright as my old Infocus, but I'm confident I'll get over TEN times the lifespan out of this unit. Good fit and finish, and the auto keystone adjustment is impressive!
Cons: I wish it was just a little bit brighter! Kind of blah in the daytime if you've got windows.
Overall Review: This is an excellent little unit- grab a tripod and take it anywhere!
