Pros: Runs Windows apps
Decent power for light/simple tasks (light gaming, Office, web, video chat & email)
Cons: Small & slow 32GB Sandisk SSD (150 Read & 30 Write)
Overall Review: I replaced the SanDisk SSD with a Kingston 64GB SSD (274 Read & 256 Write - item #: N82E16820139948). Coupled with a clean install and fast SSD, this tablet is even better!
I look forward to loading this with Win8 Beta soon.
Pros: Runs windows well and you can use normal programs. The price is fair. SD slot and USB! Really where else can you get a tablet the runs a full OS for under $600 bucks? I can even run Rift MMO on basic graphics mode 10-20 fps.
Cons: Windows slows the tablet down with unneeded services and this effects everything. With the correct services turned off it runs really well and the touch screen is way more responsive. If you tune windows right then this is a good buy. If you don't know how or are unwilling to tune widows then this product may disappoint you.
Overall Review: Also people a tablet pen would help with some of the small buttons.
search online for windows speed ups and this tablet is the best you can buy!
mSATA Removeable/Upgradeable SSD
4-Finger Multi-Touch Capacitive Touchscreen
Great Battery Life Considering the Size
3-Seconds from sleep to Desktop
ATi Radeon HD6250 GPU
Cons: Comes with some bloatware that slows the computer mildly
2GB of non-upgradeable RAM (1.6GB Available after GPU Takes some)
Camera App could use some work (Clunky, and Auto Camera settings are Junk, Much better results with Manual Settings.)
Overall Review: Removing the bloatware, doing a cleanup and installing Firefox 5.0 with Flash 10.3, really increases the browsing performance and app launch times on this tablet. Came with Pre-Service Pack 1 Windows 7 H.P. Installed, along with IE8 instead of 9.. Interesting, but a quick update and you have the latest and greatest! It comes with Windows 7 Touch Applications pre-installed; Microsoft Surface Apps such as Globe or Aquarium, as well as a few games. The Screen resolution is quite high, it's gorgeous and easily legible and I was amazed the touch screen's sensitivity and accuracy. I know a lot of people are saying that Windows 7 isn't made for touch screens, but I have to say I disagree. It is so fun and easy to use and I haven't had any headaches with it yet! The Keyboard dock is a nice touch, but with it docked, is as thick as a regular Netbook, which would foil my plans for it if I stored it with the keyboard.. I love it and I love Acer! This makes for my 4th Acer and counting!
Pros: Does everything my netbook did, plus it's a tablet. Win7 isn't terrible as a touch-only OS, but it leaves something to be desired. Win7 (wiped it and installed Win7 Pro) runs everything I need for work and play. Has an ethernet port, necessary for me to replace my netbook for work purposes and troubleshooting. Has good, netbook-like battery life. Decent performance and not too heavy.
Cons: Doesn't have a digitizer so pen input is next to impossible. I purchased a capacitive pen to see if I could make it work with OneNote but alas it's not ment to be. Watching SOME Netflix content stutters badly at first, then smoothes out after a few minutes (despite updating the graphics drivers to the latest). Not a fault of the tablet but some software has not been written to take advantage of touch (Zune software, way to go MS).
Overall Review: I've wanted a tablet, but I needed something that can do everything my netbook did, including an ethernet port. This tablet at this price (though I purchased from another retailer the day it came out) absolutely fits the bill and opens up new usage scenarios, such as more easily surfing/watching Netflix in bed and as an eReader device with the Kindle software. And still runs the millions of apps that run on Windows... so there's that..
Pros: -great price
-It's a tablet and a win7 pc!
-the keyboad was included
-it's not overly heavy as a tablet
-batterylife is fairly good (at LEAST 3 hrs for me)
-fast enough to handle what i use it for (paperwork, netflix, printing, quick run out on the lot for some information with customers, ect)
-keyboard works great as long as it's on a solid level surface
- never had an acer computer before, but i trust neweggs return policy for doa's or something that comes broken. Now i am thinking of buying these through work for the salesman......time will tell.
Cons: - small screen if your using it all day for work (reading a lot)
- keyboard is unbalanced when used anywhere but a hard and level surface
- could be faster but for the money it's easy to work around, google win7 optimizations and in ten to fifteen min your running about 50% faster, really.
- playing some games and compressed movies gets sluggish, dvd's and netflix based movies work great.
- bloatware (fixable)
- if they would move the screen out to 12" then it would be 100 times better... eh maybe someday...
Overall Review: - for those who are wondering it takes about 30-40 sec. for the tablet to find the keyboard and anything attached to it.
-I didn't like the built in mouse so i got a wirless mouse for the keyboard and it works great!
- you have to remember what your buying- a less than $600 windows tablet with a keyboard. It's not a gaming PC. It's a netbook with a detachable keyboard.
- I just finished setting up this computer with everything i NEED and i am only using 12.8gb TOTAL on the main drive. I keep all of my personal files (pictures, video's, music, ect) on a 32gb sd card to help offset the small SSD. This means i have a total of 64gb!
- read the stats- what you see IS what you get. If you want more then get something else.
- remember that there is one proccesor in this unit and it runs both the procceses and the graphics.
- i look forward to upgrading to win 8 when it comes out! Or using pre release demo...
Pros: Bought for my daughter who is in nursing school. Touch screen work well in WIN 7 with stylus, but not fingers (use capacitive stylus)
Mainly use as many portable apps or virtalized apps as possible. most run well.
Fully functional tablet WIN 7 PC, not a toy!
Am thinking about getting one for me!
Cons: typical bloatware; Win 7 Pro can be trimmed to about 6 gigs with a custom install image.
Very Unstable when docked. Made some plastic clips to cure this problem.
Overall Review: several new add-ons for touch screens make it more friendly!
Pros: A tablet that is a true fully functional computer. Bluetooth, HDMI out, portable, and fun. Windows 7, Microsoft Office 10 work great. Only had it for roughly a month and still in honeymoon stage. Everybody who sees it wants it. Priced for all to own. Now I can take my computer everywhere and do everything. Love it.
Cons: Learning to deal with limited storage.
Overall Review: Where do I find a screen protector???
Pros: This tablet is cheap compared to others.
Touch screen works great
Cons: CPU is a little weak.
Overall Review: I wish this had a stronger CPU to polish off the specs, it seems under powered compare to the rest of the specs. I bought this through the Microsoft store because it was a little cheaper at the time, and it came with Signature. Basically that means no trialware or bloatware.the tablet runs great, I have owned an iPad for over a year, but this is leaps and bounds better. Windows 7 is responsive and works well. I am going to be testing Windows 8 on it soon.
