Will this fit and be usable in a PCIe 2.0 x 16 slot(x8 or x4 mode)?

It will work in almost any PCIe slot. The part of the tab after the notch(furthest from the plate) will only use the channels it is designed for so you can fit an x4 in an x8 or x16 slot and it will work, just not use the other channels.

Would this be compatable with a Mac G5 with the proper drivers?

Good luck with the drivers. I would explicitly find them ahead OF TIME.
