Do Alpine Rivers RFID sleeves protect cards and passports?
Yes. RFID skimming targets the 13.56 MHz frequency behind every contactless credit, debit, ID, transit and e-passport card. The sleeve forms a Faraday shield verified at 13.56 MHz, so the chip cannot be read while it is inside.
Can I still tap to pay?
Yes. Slide the card out to tap, then slide it back to shield. You stay in control of when the card can be read. There is no battery and nothing to charge; the shielding is built into the sleeve.
Will it block my office or hotel access card?
Newer 13.56 MHz access cards are shielded inside the sleeve; slide out to badge in, back in to shield. Older 125 kHz proximity fobs and most car keys use a lower frequency and are not affected.
What is in the set, and who is it for?
18 sleeves: 14 color-numbered card sleeves plus 4 passport sleeves, one card per sleeve. Slim, unisex protection for everyone, sized for standard credit and ID cards, with a numbered system the whole family can share.
Why Alpine Rivers, not an ordinary or paper sleeve?
Ordinary paper or single-layer sleeves only weaken the signal. Alpine Rivers uses a water-resistant four-layer laminate, a full Faraday enclosure verified at 13.56 MHz. FIPS 201 approved in 2016, trusted since 2015, and it will not tear.
