The ATI FirePro V7800 is ideally suited for professionals who work on complex models and visual effects and need to meet the requirements of demanding visualization jobs.
The ATI FirePro V7800 features three independent video outputs (two DisplayPort and one dual-link DVI) with AMD Eyefinity technology and less than 150W max board power in a single slot.
AMD Eyefinity TechnologyAdvanced multi-display technology delivers a highly immersive graphics/computing experience with innovative display capabilities supporting massive desktop workspaces.
AutoDetect TechnologyAs a user moves between applications, or opens new ones, the graphics driver settings are automatically configured for optimized performance.
Multi-View DisplayWith two DisplayPort and one dual-link DVI outputs, Multi-View enables up to three displays with independent display resolution, refresh rate, and display rotation settings.
Full 30-bit Display PipelineThe full 30-bit display pipeline enables more color values than 24-bit products for more accurate color reproduction and superior visual fidelity. (30-bit monitor required for full 30-bit display.)
OPTIMIZED AND CERTIFIED FOR MANY CAD AND DCC APPLICATIONSThe certification of AMD FirePro professional graphics solutions ensures compatibility, reliability and the highest level of performance when used with professional 3D software packages.
Industry-leading API SupportFull Shader Model 5.0 support helps create highly complex geometry and scenes without taxing the CPU. DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.1 advanced features enable optimal performance in leading applications. Support for industry standard OpenCL 1.1, an open, multiplatform development platform, helps enable broad adoption of heterogeneous computing.

ATI FirePro V7800 2GB 256-bit GDDR510/17/2011 12:27:35 PM
Pros: Great graphic card, runs cool and silent, runs as good as it looks on my Photo Shop CS5.5 Production premium and my other Digital Creation Contains (DCC).
Cons: For some how ATI Firepro driver is not friendly with antivirus software
when rendering a critical Video or DCC. I have to uninstall antivirus from my system for a critical rendering such as with lots of special effects and multi videos background.
Overall Review: This Graphic card is specially designed for 3d applications and DCC but, it does work on other application as well as games too.

Great for solidworks10/20/2010 12:33:51 PM
Pros: Works great right out of the box.
Updated drivers to download.
Dual monitors working without any issues.
Runs Solidworks 2010 x64 flawlessly.
Looks good (I can actually see the cool visual effects).
Much better customer images.
Fast.
Cons: Won't be able to x-fire unless i get AMD processor/mobo.
No issues yet. Just got it however.
Overall Review: $615 is a lot for a video card but it's paying for itself with my increased productivity compared to my 8800GT x2 SLI. No more waiting for features to LOAD!! Images i send to my customers now look way more professional and much better.

I'm very impressed1/29/2011 8:13:21 AM
Pros: This is my best card ever. I am a Civil 3D user and this card is the best ever. I had been a Nvidia only for Acad and now I have found a excellent card. Fast, does everything better. I also do Video rendering and this card is scary fast. Low noise and rock solid performance in all categories.
Cons: When installing it wasn't smooth. Called tech support and they thought the card was DOA, so got another sent in replacement overnite (thanks Newegg) turns out that the tech support was flawed and that the first card was fine. The instructions for loading drivers isn't friendly. I had to go to Device Manager and it only first saw that it was a VGA card not an ATI. Second tech support guy simply told me to load the drivers manually from a local location of my driver download. After a reboot I could use the CD and install the Catalyst software and from there it was rock and roll time. I wish it had been able to do that from the get go, but it didn't recognize the card. I have Win 7 64.
Pros: Nice hi end graphics card at a good price point
Cons: The card is 11 inches long. Does not fit in all chassis. So be very careful, measure. A standard ATX MB is 12" x 9.6", the 9.6" is the length of the MB where the card is over, thus it extends about 1.4" beyond the MB!! Note also the power connector (6pin) is on the end of the board so more length is needed for the power cable.
I like Antec chassis, but the Sonata II is too small for this card, the 300 is just right. A server chassis with 12" to 13" might be better. You might need to be handy with a Dremel tool.
Overall Review: Some others have noted the multiple display issues. To use 3 displays, one needs to use the two display port connectors. They can be connected to a DVI-D connector, but need an active adapter. A passive adapter is provided, so in this will only allow for two displays to be used.
It would be nice if these details were available on the Newegg website or the AMD website. At least they put a piece of paper in the box to spell out the issues, but only after buying parts.
Awesome in 3ds Max 2011 and Maya 201111/25/2010 7:07:06 AM
Pros: This Firepro with the performance driver for max 2011 beats a Quadro 5000 without performance driver (see 3D World 136.
Cons: none
Overall Review: As a 3ds Max user, I was first concered over the act Ati does sport Physx and GPU rendering with vray... But after studying the question, I realised the latest CPU with a little overclocking are faster than any GPU solution, which are anyway too new (and buggy) and still very limited. Nothing beats raw cpu power in 2010-2011. GPU for physx and rendering are for me stil in the future. So that's great cause I don't need to pey for the high priced quadro for which everyone is rushing!
Pros: EASY TO SETUP, SINGLE SLOT SOLUTION, PERFORMANCE VERY CLOSE TO V8800, MOST IMPORTANT CROSSFIRE X ON MY DELL T7500 2X E5630 48GB WITHOUT A HITCH.
V7800 X2 CROSSFIRE PERFORMANCE VERY SIMILAR TO XFX 5970 4GB EDITION AT SIMILAR PRICE, YET YOU GOT FULL FEATURE OF THE PROFESSIONAL WORKSTATION.
RUN FULL DIRECT COMPUTE BENCH 0.45B OPENCL AND DX COMPUTE WITHOUT PROBLEM OR SCREEN FLICKER.
IN CROSSFIRE X CONFIG, OPENCL BENCH GPU IS MORE THAN 50 TIME FASTER THEN MY DUAL XEON E5630 BENCH CPU.
Cons: NONE SO FAR.
Overall Review: WAITING FOR DIRECT COMPUTE AND OPENCL.

Wow! and Wow!10/20/2010 3:51:12 PM
Pros: I ran some benchmarking applications on this, and (insert review title here). Solid Works and Adobe CS5 run amazing! No hiccups or install issues of any kind, and I used the driver install provided by Solid Works. Granted it's not the top of the line, it is one helluva mid-level CAD card.
Cons: Except for the ridiculous price jump for workstation graphics cards, NONE!
Pros: Great graphic card, runs cool and silent, runs as good as it looks on my Photo Shop CS5.5 Production premium and my other Digital Creation Contains (DCC).
Cons: For some how ATI Firepro driver is not friendly with antivirus software when rendering a critical Video or DCC. I have to uninstall antivirus from my system for a critical rendering such as with lots of special effects and multi videos background.
Overall Review: This Graphic card is specially designed for 3d applications and DCC but, it does work on other application as well as games too.
