This processor claims to have integrated graphics. Does this mean it can display graphics without the addition of a video card?

Correct. Just install the chip in an FM2 motherboard, and you will have integrated functioning graphics without an additional graphics card. For example, if the motherboard has a DVI or HDMI port, those ports will be powered by this chip.

Not really. The biggest factor for whether a computer is good for gaming is the graphics, and that's usually the video card. tomshardware has a monthly article that's pretty good at identifying the best gaming card for a wide variety of budgets. This isn't a BAD processor, and if you get a separate video card, you can do well, but this is a budget processor and video "card" combined.

That's more dependent on your motherboard having a RAID controller vs what processor you're using. So, yes, as long the board you pair it with has a RAID controller.

Yes, it come with a thin layer pre-aplied. I immediately wiped it off and put IC Diamond 7 Carat thermal compound on instead.

I am having excellent results with the MSI 'AM75MA-E35', so I would expect you to be trouble-free (If the processor is listed on MSI's CPU support list). No BIOS Update needed.

hello, im building a computer for a friend that will never game, mainly just browse the internet, transfer photos and play facebook flash games as well as watch the occasional youtube video. my question before buying this cpu is will it feel slow and unresponsive in general computing use, or will the amount of ram effect these functions?  Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 3 systems using this processor, 1 of which is acting as a desktop with Windows 7 (The others run FreeBSD). Without a discrete graphics card,  the desktop performance is fine for the purposes you list. However, the on-board graphics do share RAM with the system. The minimum I  run with is 8GB.

If you find that you need faster response, adding a discrete GPU (with discrete RAM) should have a noticeable affect and the cost of a low-end GPU is pretty reasonable. You should not need the latest an greatest.

No!! Read the specs The Mobo you're asking about has an AM3+ socket. The APU you're asking about says right in the Specs it needs an FM2 socket. Notice I've called this an APU this means it has gaphics and cpu on the same chip. So you don't need a Mobo with integrated gaphics  and the Mobo you use has to have an FM2 socket for this APU to work.

Building a new system for my mom. She does emails, MS Office, web surfing plus she downloads and uploads a ton of photos for both my father's and her own online businesses.  It will be used daily but nothing that is taxing.  I was going to purchase an A8-5500 Trinity because it is Quad Core has an L2 4 MB Cache.  But before I pulled the trigger I continued to research and now I am wondering if the Dual Core A4-6300 is more than enough.  The L2 1 MB Cache seems a little low here for me.  From what I have described in will the A4-6300 be more than adequate for her needs?  Thanks.

I have placed these PCs in many businesses and homes where these same actions are being taken. The PC runs very smooth and as long as there is at least 4gb of memory there should be no problem at all.

Question 10

As to Francois L. claim that there is no driver support for XP or Vista?  Isn't that a function of the motherboard and not the CPU?
Inquiring minds want to know...  Surely there is a MB that will allow XP or Vista to run with this CPU.

we bought this to rebuild a computer using a hard drive saved from a computer running xp.  Our intention was to reload the new computer with xp.  In the end I got a coupon for windows 7 and installed that on our rebuilt.  don't know how helpful I have been, my 22 year old son did most of the work  :)
