does this product include a heat sink and fan?

Yes it does. The heat sink and fan are pretty standard, but work just fine. They should be more than enough cooling if you do not plan to overclock and have an adequate case fan. I use these processors in workstations for a computer lab. They get heavy use and are always on. No problems at all.

Does this have integrated graphics?

Yes, your mainboard should have some combination of HDMI/VGA/DVI ports on it so that this APU can drive both processing and video output. The graphics are pretty good too, more than adequate for a media center, which is my application for this chip.

what type of power supply would i need for this?

i cannibalised a case and 80w power supply from a machine running a 65W CPU, optical drive and mechanical hard drive.  this machine locked up frequently, so i put it into a bigger case with a bigger supply.

with the case and 80W supply, i built an always-on, low-ish power web/file server with this cpu, 4GB of memory and a samsung evo pro ssd.  i recently also added a 5400 rpm hard disk.  i use stock video on the motherboard, or don't use, actually.

the 80W power supply works just fine.  i've not had one hardware problem.  not one.

i looked into an AC power supply, but i decided not to spend the money with the 80W supply working so well.

Question 4

Ok, let's try this again. My previous question is more about whether I can use a 32bit OS or do I have to use the 64bit OS if I am using right at 4GB of RAM, as 4GB seems to be the breaking point between OS's. I would prefer to use the 32bit OS as it is more difficult to get 64bit drivers that work properly for my older peripherals?

short answer: you can use a 32-bit OS.

longer answer:  you can use a 32-bit OS BUT, at least on for a 32-bit version of windows, you won't see all 4Gb of your memory.  It's usually between 3.25 and 3.5 if I remember correctly.  for more info, wikipedia has an article titled "3 Gb barrier".  -dennis

Is this and a cpu or a apu?

apu, low power...comparable to the Intel Atom...128 shaders @ 600Mhz.   I built a home theater PC with it and ASRock Mini-Itx mobo that has DC input like a laptop... It runs about 20watts used from the wall outlet with a SSD for the main drive with 4GB of memory.  If used for windows I would probably buy the 5350 which runs at 2Ghz...Windows takes more CPU resources than Linux.

4GB of Ram seems to be the breaking point between running 32 bit and 64 bit OS. If I am using right at 4GB, is there really any noticeable difference? I'm resurrecting an older secondary machine (no gaming) and don't want to invest too much, and it's harder to get 64bit drivers that work properly for many of the older peripherals.

it's going to depend on how much of that 4GB's of memory you are going to have free to run the applications you want running at once.

The problem with this chip and all of the am1 line is the 64-bit memory bus for the system more than the amount of ram in it.

I would use at least 6GB's if you aren't going to put in a discrete gpu otherwise 4GB's is fine for general use.  Lastly if you aren't doing any gaming with it I would get the celeeon J1900 or the Pentium J2800/ 2900 instead as they have dual channel memory in stead of single like the am1.

I have an HP Slimline Pavilion, Model #s5280t, and I want to upgrade the processor to an AMD. Which one will work with this system? Currently, my desktop runs Windows 10 64 Bit and has an AMD Radeon Graphics card. I also upgraded my power supply to a 300 watt unit.
Any help anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately your computer has an Intel chipset which means you can only use Intel processors. The only way to use an AMD processor is to change the motherboard to an AMD motherboard. Your current motherboard is only compatible with the following processors:
