Question 1

I am looking to buy this and was wondering if it comes with instructions on installation?( My first time building a computer and I',m a bit nervous.)

It does indeed come with instructions for installation although you shouldn't really have anything to be worried about because installing processors is quite simple. Just match up the triangles on the processor and the chip bay and let it drop in and clamp it down. Tip/warning: The CPU should fall into place without any effort applied! After clampingg down read the instructions for installing the liquid cooling and make sure you have enough room in your case for the liquid cooling tubes! Question 2

Will this cpu and the cooling system with it fit on the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0?

Indeed it will.   The 220 watt TDP will be nothing to worry about as the R2.0 officially supports this CPU.   I am currently running this on the Sabertooth 990fx R1 board and it works just fine, tho the board isn't rated for the 220 watt power consumption.  It's even overclocked to 5Ghz for daily use on all 8 cores.

One thing to consider however, is that I bought this CPU as an AMD fan wanting to get one of the last gen series of the AM3+ line, that and I love the look of the included FX logo cooler.  I had a gift card and it was also on sale.

If you aren't especially wow'd by the cooler and have to have the fx logo or want the CPU as a piece of AMD history.. I would recommend you take a look at the 8350 and overclock it.   For cooling you could go with the 110I from corsair, it performs better then this cooler for around the same price.

with the 8350 you are looking at a WAY better performance per watt over the 9xxx series.  They overclock like child's play and with the 125 watt TDP you won't have to worry about dealing with all the extra heat produced by the 9370.

In conclusion, the 9370 is a great CPU in my eyes, but like I said I bought it as an AMD fan boy.  You will get a better performance for the price out of the 8350.

Question 3

I'm about a year and a half into an AMD fx 8150 which, right now, is simply overheating with tasks like gaming or watching videos. How hot are you seeing the cpu get when when it gets stressed?

Hello random shopper, i have had this CPU for a few months now and have honestly been having temperature issues with even a corsair h110 extreme water cooling system, but lately ive been messing with the fans and trying new coolers, and i have excellent results that hopefully you can get an idea from, results are down below, hope this helped! :D

Question 4

Did anyone else installing the waterblock feel that they had to apply more pressure to get the screws to contact the back plate then they felt they should have?   When attaching I couldn't shake the feeling that I shouldn't need to put that much pressure on the unit to screw it in... I also got a bum CPU the first go around and it was the same case installing the second one, almost as if the metal bracket had to be formed a little bit to fit.

I had a little trouble but I flipped the mounting plate. I also made sure to only tighten The screws only one turn at each corner in an x pattern and there was no problem with pressure. The illustrations were unclear though and it took some fiddling to figure out the best way to get the thing on evenly. I have built many dozens of rigs though and without that experience it would be easy to put uneven pressure with that set up and wreck a CPU. As mounts go I have had way more pressure just as long as it is even and the backing plate takes the load off of the mother board.

Question 5

I currently have an ASUS CG-1330 with AMD Phenom II X6 1035T / 2.6 GHz processor.  I believe the motherboard product number is M4A78LT-M PHENOM II 61-MIBBJ4-01.  Will the FX-9370 be compatible with my motherboard?

Check the specs on Asus website for your answer. I doubt it, as this FX is a 220W CPU, and I believe your board only goes up to 125W.

is this compatible with the ASUS crosshair V formula z ?

Chip is fast.  Found aftermarket NewEgg air cooler to be better then supplied water cooler.  You need to go to the Asus site and see if that board will handle 220 watt CPU's.  I have tried several boards, but not that one and most will not output the 220 watts needed to run the chip.  Result will be it will run for awhile with low wattage but will over heat the socket and burn up the board eventually.  I have tried this CPU on many boards.  My current board is a ASRock Extream 9 version 4; purchased at NewEgg. I personally would not use any other board at this time.

Question 7

are the fans supposed to run fulltime when powered on? or do they have power features and turn off when cool? Any help would be great.

forgot to mention it's for the 9370 stock watercooling unit

The fans shouldn't be running at full speed unless you're doing some ridiculously intense task or your case isn't well ventilated. You'd know if they were because the computer would sound as if it was about to start buzzing around your room and fire rockets at you.

Also, the fans change speed based on the temp of the processor. AMD Cool N' Quiet is supposed to help with that but I believe it throttles your speed. That's in the bios.

Is this processor able to run off of the MSI 990fx-GD80v2? 
Can't seem to find a reliable source of info on this topic

I have the same board, and I asked MSI about it, and they said that they couldn't guarantee it would as it is not on the supported list. The reviews I read show one dude who said it is working with his. Go to the New Egg site for the board and you can read the review.  It needs a 220w, and according to New Egg it shows in the description as a 220w.

My question is are the tubes removable/detachable so i can move the radiator outside on the back of my case?

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. You will lose the coolant. It takes up a good deal of space as well.

You have two choices:
1) Buy a better case with more room and/or more cooling options
2) Go with a GOOD traditional cooler and DO NOT overclock it

i believe you can get the answer from asus. i forgot what kind of MB i got, but it works fine. If you plan to overclock, have a very good cpu cooler as this chip puts out a lot of heat (they are not kiding about the 220watts) and will draw a lot more when overclocked.
