Any good for gaming?

Will it play games? Yes all day if you have a powerful GPU. Is it optimized for gaming? No Way! It will not play Elder Scrolls Online (It actually memory leaks because it doesn't know what to do with all the cores)(there is a work around). With my w9100 it runs GTA V in 4k @ 60hz and will make light work of blizzard games, but that has been the extent of my testing. Once again I will stress it is not designed for this at all! It does work great for my 3d design and plays a big part in my rendering solution. I have several gaming rigs that I use for VR this one just happend to be in a house of gamers and if someone comes over and we need an extra machine it does not disappoint. It claims 2.6Ghz but mine runs closer to 3.4 Ghz on every test I have put it though on my Asus KGPE mb (I run 2 for a total of 24 cores, with 128 gigs of ram).

Does this Processor include a heat sink and fan?

No, it does not include cooling. Remember this is server class hardware it runs perfectly at a higher temperature, but it still needs cooling.

Question 3

What motherboard is the right motherboard? Are you running Hyper-V?

Any g34 motherboard will do. Just make sure to check mobo docs as some have specific memory requirements.

Should work fine for hyper-v, I am running esxi with 9 nodes (with 2 cores each) with and have yet to experience any issues. Havent even had to reboot yet.
