Question 1

DXQA probe <dxq class='p1'>"' — does this fit an AM4 board?

Accepted Answer

Its an AM4 CPU. Of course it fits the motherboard. Its a good CPU! Paired with a 7600 GPU it's almost as strong as a PS5.

Question 2

I currently have an AMD Ryzen 3 2200g, would this be a noticable improvement?

Accepted Answer

this would be a drastric upgrade to cpu performance since the g series were usually unable to use core multithreading, so this woul dbe a drastic improvement and a cpu compatible with it would be less than 200 for viable performance

Question 3

Does it have integrated graphics?

Accepted Answer

No integrated graphics. You will have to buy a graphics card and use those outputs. Onboard motherboard outputs will not work.

Question 4

Have users reported any thermal throttling or overheating problems with the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 during extended heavy workloads?

Accepted Answer

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 generally does not have reports of thermal throttling or overheating during extended heavy workloads when paired with adequate cooling. Its 65W TDP and 7nm Zen 3 architecture keep power and heat levels manageable, but good airflow and a quality cooler are recommended for sustained high performance.

Since this CPU lacks integrated graphics, pairing it with a proper discrete GPU means cooling demands might rise depending on your overall system. If you plan on heavy multitasking or overclocking, investing in a reliable aftermarket cooler will help maintain stable temps and performance.

Question 5

What is the TDP of the AMD Ryzen 5 5500, and how does its power consumption affect cooling requirements?

Accepted Answer

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 has a TDP of 65 watts, which means it runs fairly efficiently and won’t need an overly robust cooling solution. A good quality air cooler or stock cooler designed for 65W CPUs will generally handle heat dissipation well under typical desktop workloads.

Since this CPU doesn’t include integrated graphics, any additional heat from a GPU won’t come from the processor itself, simplifying your cooling setup slightly. If you plan on overclocking or heavy multi-threaded tasks, investing in a better cooler is a good idea, but for standard use, most mid-range air coolers will keep temperatures in check.

Question 6

I'm new to the pc world do i still need a cpu cooler?

Accepted Answer

The cooler it comes with works fine. Its easy to upgrade the cooler later on if you have heat issues. Ive not had any issues with the cooler that comes with it.

Question 7

Would this CPU be suitable for office work?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 is suitable for office work as it offers reliable performance for general use and productivity tasks.

Question 8

Does it come with thermal paste for the processor? I know it comes with a fan.

Accepted Answer

all factory AMD processors come with thermal paste pre applied assuming the processors are new not used condition no need to buy more thermal paste for the initial install

Question 9

Q: What would you like to provide the feedback on?
A: Product Specifications - Im not sure if the cpu comes with a cooler or not

Accepted Answer

The CPU comes with a Wraith Stealth cooling device.

Question 10

Is it worth buying the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 now, or should I wait for the next generation CPU release?

Accepted Answer

Yes buy AM4! AM5 DDR5 memory is overpriced! The 5500 is a great stepping stone to leap over AM5 once AM6 releases. Dont buy AM5 right now! Not worth it!
