For What It's Worth 7/21/2020 3:29:24 PM

Pros: Reliable!

Overall Review: OK. No one is going to read this, I'm sure they stopped making this model years ago. The thing is, it just blew. I looked at my Newegg order history (like a timeline of my computer life) and I bought the thing in 2008. Twelve years! Not bad.

Pooped out after six years. 3/10/2016 12:22:30 AM

Pros: I guess 5 years is okay.

Cons: I bought it in 2009, and it expired in 2015. It wasn't totally non-functional. It just got flaky and eventually failed to boot reliably in its last few months.

Overall Review: Leading up to the final year, it was just not that reliable during the boot. Otherwise, it was fine.

Keeps on chuggin' 7/28/2014 11:23:54 PM

Pros: Quiet and reliable. Great power supply for an audio rig.

Cons: Ugly, but who cares--it's buried!

Overall Review: Bought this mainly for its electrical performance (good voltage regulation, low ripple and noise) for audio. The fan started getting a bit loud, so I opened up the PSU (warranty long since expired) and replaced it with a Noctua NF-R8, which I connected to the MB. Now this unit is silent. Newer setup with Haswell CPU uses very little power, so the PSU does not need a high speed fan to stay cool. Makes me think it will last at least another 5-6 years easy. First generation Earthwatts series (EA380, EA430 and EA500) were made by Seasonic and are all very good.

More than enough power 12/16/2013 2:54:37 AM

Pros: Typical Antec quality, still going strong after over 6 years. At its peak, powered a quad-core Phenom II and a GTS 250 plus multiple drives and other accessories without issue.

Cons: Not modular, but not a reasonable expectation for the price range.

Overall Review: I've had nothing but good experiences with the Earthwatts line over the years, this was the first of many happy purchases.

No Problem after 4+ Years 1/16/2013 2:00:29 PM

Pros: Although these are no longer available for purchase new, I thought I’d throw out my two cents since these can always be picked up second hand.

I own two of these (both purchased in 2008) and have them installed in two separate computers. I have never had a single problem with either one. Both systems are not “High End” as they are used for mostly for internet surfing and very mild gaming. One system does have a HIS HDMI video card requiring the use of the PCI-E connector and still, no problems. All the cables are adequate length for my systems, both of which are ATX Mid-towers.

One thing that may have help me out was is that I am very adamant about tearing down and cleaning the internals of my systems approximately every three months, to include blowing out and/or vacuuming out the power supply. It may just be a coincidence, but I feel this practice has alleviated any major electrical problems over the years…knock on wood.

I would not hesitate to purchase an Antec power supply for a future build.

Cons: None

QUIET AND STABLE 8/27/2012 12:48:08 PM

Pros: Quiet fan. Has worked great for 4 years. Works fine with my heavily overclocked E5200.

Cons: None

Overall Review: First one i got was a dud after a few months. It did not damage any other components when it died, and Newegg's RMA was very easy to work with.

Awesome PS 6/7/2011 12:06:23 AM

A lot of connectors
High efficiency
NO problems so far

Cons: The 4-Pin ATX 12V is my issue. Wish it was a little longer since the PS is mounted on the bottom of my case and the 4-Pin ATX 12V connector on the motherboard is at the top of my case. It makes the distance but has to dodge underneath my graphics card near the expansion slots and is a little taught. I have the Antec 300 ATX Mid tower.

Overall Review: NO issues, easy installation, reliable so far (7months), and plenty of connectors. Only thing was the length of the 4-Pin ATX 12V, but it still reaches fine and can't really complain about something that gets the job done. Everything else makes up for it anyway...

DOA on arrival 12/27/2010 8:50:06 PM

Pros: It looked very nice in the box.

Cons: I just installed it and it does not work. I have to call Antec for an RMA and probably pay for shipping as well.

Overall Review: My old power power supply went out about a month ago. I bought this new one and installed. The computer didn't work. I suspected the motherboard got hit at the same time the PSU did so I searched for a new motherboard and found the same model. Still didn't work. I borrowed an old power supply from a buddy and it worked. Kinda sucks I spent extra bucks on something I didn't need, but I just didn't suspect a new PSU to be bad. First time that has happened to me. I gotta call Antec (since I already sent in the rebate) and figure out how to RMA.
