Not so great 4/6/2006 3:27:01 PM

Pros: Modular cables are very nice. When it works, its fairly quiet.

Cons: My 2nd one just died in just a year. They both just died without reason. The 2nd one I got came with a lot better set of cables though.

Overall Review: I would stay away from this Neo. Not only is it overpriced, but quality control must have been sleeping when these went down the line.

Great PSU! 1/19/2006 10:57:25 AM

Pros: Modular cable system using non non molded cables which means you can pop the pins out of the connectors to the psu and make custom cables.

High output, low noise, no hotter than any other psu I've used. 2 pci-e power cables. 24 pin atx cable convertable to 20 pin if you don't have 24.

Cons: Doesn't have an 8 pin atx +12 mobo connector? Then again not many mobo's use that so I can't really call it much of a con.

Overall Review: Powers my system great have:

1gb ram
6600 gt oc
2 x WD Raptors
cd-rom drive
7 fans

Seems like it could handle about anything I could throw at it.

Bad experience 1/19/2006 7:40:35 AM

Pros: Good, clean power. However, I cannot recommend this power supply, or any Antec product after my experience with my Neo480. Read on to see why...

Cons: Poor quality control.

I have been a big fan of Antec in the past, but not after my recent experience. The first Neo480 I received had a broken fan. Didn't realize this until after my new pc went into thermal shutdown. That's when I discovered the power supply fan was not internally connected to the axle inside the PS. I got an RMA and disconnected everything, repackaged it and returned it to NewEgg. They shipped me a new unit, which I tested first this time, then installed into my new PC.

Overall Review: Two problems with the replacement unit - first, the "fan only" connectors were not supplying a sufficient startup voltage to power the case fans in my Thermaltake Tsunami case. If I manually spun the blades, they would turn, but that was unacceptable. I had to use the standard connectors rather than the fan only connectors.

Secondly, after a few days of noisy operation, I discovered that the PS fan was always running at high speed. It never slowed down - 5000+ rpms all the time. What was supposed to be a quiet PS is the loudest part of my system.

I have tried to get a new unit cross shipped to me from Antec. They are now ignoring me, and I will never do business with Antec again. Newegg = good, but Antec = bad

OK PS 1/17/2006 3:47:29 PM

Pros: Easy to install. 6 pin video support, sata connectors are great.

Cons: Legacy connector arrangement is limp. 3.5 floppy / card reader combo took up one output port. Dumb! PS is enough to warm my den. Heat output is beyond trust.

Overall Review: I'm still looking for a good reliable PS. The Neo 480 works but does not provide any confidence.

fantastic power supply 1/4/2006 12:18:05 PM

Pros: Modular cabling system is great.
Relatively quiet fan system.
Braided cables combined with modular cabling system cleans up the cable mess in a case.

Cons: n/a

Overall Review: I use the NEOPower in a home theather system and the power supply is quiet enough for that environment. It's not the loudest fan in the system. It's quieter than a Zalman ZM-F1 running full spead, louder than the ZM-F1 running low speed (at low speed the ZM-F1 is basically noiseless).

The pictures of the NeoPower are incorrect: current versions of the product come with braided power cables.

Very Satisfied! 1/4/2006 7:21:27 AM

Pros: Excellent Power Regulation, Very Stable, Customizable Cables, Very Quiet, this is a great power supply for a gamer or for a workstation you plan on giving very clean power - Worth the Money. A+

Cons: None

Overall Review: It would of been nice to have a 5 year warranty like PC Power and Colling's PSUs, but 3 years is better than the standard 1 year.

solid performer 12/14/2005 2:08:20 PM

Pros: Quieter than dual-fan units. Modular cabling to minimize clutter. Reduced power usage when idling.

Cons: It's system fan management doesn't really throttle the fans very well at all.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace a 550W supply that fried my board. This has been running the RMA replacement board for over a year now with no gripes. It is powering two Athlon MP processors, a workstation video card, and 8 10k-15k U160 SCSI drives.

Exploding Death-Star...? 12/11/2005 9:04:28 AM

Pros: The PSU has very nice braided cable and a lot of extra plugs, but that is were the pors stop...

Cons: In consistant with gaming rigs and insanely loud fan.

Overall Review: This powers supply blow out my CD-RW/DVD+RW Drive and almost nuked my BFG 7800GTX OC video card. Very dissapointed in this power supply and I don't recomend it to anyone that has an nVidia 7 series video card. After major trouble shooting and 3 hard drive formats I finaly concluded that it was my PSU, but a little too late...My very expencive Windows XP Media Center Edition CD Exploded in the CD drive on a Re-install, and then the PSU proceded to nuke my CD drive. Extreamely dissapointing. Not recomended to anyone with a gaming rig.
