Question 1

Never built a PC before. Do the USB2.0 slots on the front have anything to do with the MOBO USB slots? or do they attach to a different part of the MOBO? My MOBO has USB3.0s

First, I have built over 1000 PCs in the past (was in the business), and I am impressed by this case -- in fact, have 4 of them for my personal computer needs.  The four USB connectors on the front of this have nothing to do with those on the back of your motherboard. They are for the additional USB ports off the pin connectors on the motherboard (most all current MBs have them). The fronr connectors definitely support USB 2.0 but I think your motherboard has a different connector for USB 3.0 that is not directly compatible.  I installed a combo card reader and USB 3.0 connector unit in the typically A-Drive slot, so my machine has 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back, 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back, 4 USB 2.0 ports on the front, and one USB.3.0 on the front. Does this case come with a IO shield already installed in the back (like the pictures convey) or not? If it has a shield, can I remove it?

It come with an IO shield and it is removable. you have to remove one of the sides and press in the tabs keeping it on from the inside, but yes it's removable.

what are the fan sizes? and is that just a vent on the side or can you add fans to it?

It has space for 2 80mm fans, one in front of the drive slots, one in the rear just under the power supply. The side vents can be used to mount two more 120mm fans, as I did on mine. I oriented my fans such that all except for the front fan, draw air into the case, causing the case to have a positive pressure, exhausting through the front fan. I then placed filters over the three intake fans. In this way, no air gets into the case without having to pass through a filter.

I ordered and received this case.  I have no real problems with it & like it fine, but I have 1 question:

The side of my case only has holes for 1x 80mm fan (with a matching circular vent pattern), yet I see all these other posts about this case with people saying that they have installed 1x or even 2x 120mm fans on the side...  How??  The only other thing I see on the side of the case is another rectangular vent pattern down below the 80mm place, but there are no screw holes here.

So how are people mounting 120mm fans on the side?  Did I get some new revised model of the same case or something?  Anyone noticing this discrepancy?

If you look at the case in this pic, you will see the side exposed here has many holes from top to bottom. I don't think that they are necessarily designed for a specific sized fan but you could use some creativity & get it done. You may only get 3 screws to line up but it would work. My answer is tho: I don't think it is designed for multiple fans on the side. There is a place on the back for a fan, 80mm or 120mm I think. Only one tho.

Would this case be able to fit an R9 380 13.6"(345.44mm) in it?

Jackob -- looked up and discovered the R9 380 is a long video card, not a motherboard and thus installs horizontally. Space avail is 15 inches that direction, provided you remove the lower tower sheet metal held in by pop rivets. The allows long cards and leaves the upper 4 drive bay intact and still available. I have used several of these towers including one for my gamer machine, and am satisfied with them as an inexpensive mid-tower.

What is the maximum size for a power supply if I put in a micro-atx motherboard?

You probably mean minimum, but there is no maximum size. This is a mid tower case and can take essentially any power supply available. You probably don't need any thing more powerful than 300 watts, unless you put in a massive video card.

Does this case come with any case fans?, if so how many?

No, you get nothing.  I was sorta disappointed, I pop open the box and realize there are no fans here. Then I looked closely at the pictures on newegg and realized that indeed you get no fans..I decided to get another case because of additional issues I had with it.

Can a Gigabyte G1 GTX 960 fit inside here? Or do I need a bigger case?

If it were me I would buy a different case simply because I had a lot of problems with this one. Nothing on the inside really lines up correctly, and I ended up having to put more pressure on my motherboard and video card than I would've liked to to get them to fit. I used this case on a budget build for my friend and it still works 2 years later, but I would never buy it again.

What size PSU fits inside this case?

A standard ATX power supply will fit properly in this case.  If you put an optical drive in the bottom or 2nd to the bottom drive bay, you can put in an extended length ATX PSU properly
