Overall Review: Solid little cable modem, but always check compatibility with your provider before purchasing modems. Cox is currently suggesting this modem in my area. This is not a router or a wireless router, just a cable modem. If you want an all in one, this would not be for you. My service speeds are listed as 150 down/ 10 up. This modem easily exceeds the listed speeds frequently .

Pros: So far so good. I called Comcast to have them remove my older modem MAC (so i could sell it) and gave them this new MAC from the sb6183 and it worked right off the start. Their firmware update to the modem allowed me to turn off all the bright blue LEDs that were insanely bright (192.168.100.1 to log in modem). It connects to 16 out of possible 24 download streams and 4 out of the 8 possible upload streams in my area. I got this to replace my sb6141 that would hang (I would have to reboot the modem) while it obtained new channels during peak internet traffic hours. With this new one, the internet doesn't entirely go out now (I don't have to reboot anymore) while it connects to more open download channels

Cons: It runs HOT. The main processor is on one side, while the ethernet and tuner is on the other side of the main board. You shouldn't be laying this flat at all. Stand it up! I can see this hardware going bad if someone sticks/stuffs it in an enclosed unventilated space or flat among other heat producing objects with it's processor side down. I'm sure as hot as this heatsink gets, it will literally COOK itself in the plastic. The little heatsink really needs to be bigger and copper, but they had to save on production costs somewhere, right?

Overall Review: I'm on Comcast 75Mbps plan and I'm getting much faster download speeds (I got them with my old sb6141 as well though but it is EOL). I've checked out the board and I'm seeing 2 open holes for a NB or other type of heatsink that can be used ,but I haven't found one easily available that would fit it. The manufacturer has used a 30mm x 30mm x 11mm aluminum heatsink on it and it gets extremely HOT. I'm hoping to find a larger copper one I could swap it out with as heat will destroy electronic devices and make them run slower. Let me know if you found one

Cons: Something on the modem was not allowing it a clear signal from the wall. Assuming it was a problem with the coaxial input. After an hour and a half of troubleshooting with my ISP, it was the modem. The signal was weak and not allowing the full 8 downbond streams for my ISP plan resulting in half of my speeds. After connecting the old modem, everything works fine and dandy. I ended up sending the other one back, I am waiting on replacement lottery so we will see.

Pros: This is the model that my ISP normally supplies to customers who opt to rent instead of buy a modem

Overall Review: In the short time that I've owned it it has operated smoothly and as expected, which is no surprise since it is the exact model that my ISP normally supplies to their 100+ Mbps download speed Internet service subscribers.

Pros: Flawless and easy upgrade from my two-year-old refurbished Arris SB6141 on home XFinity/Comcast service. The Walled Garden installation was very easy, and done in about 25 minutes. During installation, Comcast upgraded the firmware to version D30CM-OSPREY-1.5.2.3-GA-01-NOSH. This version gives you control over the bright LED indicators. All 16 channels down and 4 up are operating well in spec. Down channels are about 2 dBmV lower than the old modem and about 1 dB better SNR. I found this is consistent with other experiences on various forums. I've also seen a near elimination of corrected and uncorrectable blocks. IPV6 functions as it should. Since both modems can serve my current Comcast speed tier, there is no measurable speed improvement yet. I do think my service is more consistent, though that could be my imagination.

Cons: The "wall-wort" is a little warm for my taste. It's rated for 12V @ 1A, and the one for the old modem was 12V @ .75A. Michael O.'s review from 9/21/2016 means I'll be keeping an eye on it. The SB6183 itself is also a little warmer than the old modem, but it does have much better ventilation.

Overall Review: I've had good experience with Arris factory refurbished modems in the past. This product came packed in an Arris factory brown box, clearly describing the refurbished modem, with matching model, s/n and HFC MAC ID on the box. The modem was clean and had the removable clear protective "skin" on the faceplate. All of this inspires confidence. I think a 90 day warranty is good enough and worth the savings. As always, Newegg shipped it quickly, and with "eggsaver" free shipping, I got it in a week. Throw in the $50 Black Friday price and I couldn't resist! ex ovo omnia

Pros: I bought this modem for two reasons. First, Time Warner hiked the modem monthly lease fee from $3 to $10 a month in my area. Second, they are upgrading my service from 50.0 to 300.0 on May 19th. My current modem doesn't support 300.0 and I had to either get a new through the cable company or purchase my own. I've owned this modem for two days and I can already tell a difference in overall speed and stability. It will pay for itself in 8 months and now I have no TW equipment in my house.

Cons: None that I can think off. Might have to upgrade to a new router soon. I'm currently using a NetGear R6300 which has been a great router, but it's over 3 years old.

Overall Review: I will give credit where credit is due. I was on the phone with Time Warner for about 15 minutes and the modem was up and ready for use. I was on hold for close to 6 minutes waiting on an available technician. I didn't say anything about the wait time and the tech said she was sorry for the wait and gave me a $10 credit towards my next bill. Although this is a refurbished product, it looks like brand new and was packed nicely for a refurbished product. Due yourself a favor and quit leasing a modem from your isp and purchase this modem. You won't regret it!
