Question 1

What motherboard upgrades does the ASRock NUC BOX-1360P/D5 R feature over its previous generation in terms of CPU support and connectivity options?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock NUC BOX-1360P/D5 R upgrades to support the latest 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1360P processors, which are a solid step up in performance over previous generations. It also switches to DDR5 4800MHz memory, allowing faster and more efficient multitasking, plus it features improved connectivity with USB4 and dual 2.5 Gigabit LAN ports for better network speeds.

This newer model enhances display options by supporting up to four simultaneous screens, including a DisplayPort 2.1 via USB4, which is a notable jump over older NUCs. Keep in mind, it’s a barebone system, so you’ll need compatible DDR5 RAM and storage to fully take advantage of these improvements.

Question 2

Is it better to buy the Bareb ASRoc|NUC BOX-1360P/D5 R motherboard now or wait for the next generation models to be released?

Accepted Answer

You can buy the ASRock NUC BOX-1360P/D5 now if you need a compact system with solid 13th Gen Intel performance that supports DDR5 4800 and quad-display output. It’s ready to go with features like USB4 and dual 2.5 Gigabit LAN, which are current and quite capable for most business or media tasks.

Waiting for the next generation might bring incremental improvements in CPU speed or power efficiency, but the barebone’s solid specs make it a practical choice today, especially if you want something small yet flexible. If you don’t have an urgent need, keeping an eye out for updates could be worthwhile, but current availability means you won’t be left with outdated tech anytime soon.

Question 3

What is the warranty coverage duration for the ASRoc NUC BOX-1360P/D5 R motherboard, and how efficient is the RMA support process if it develops defects?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock NUC BOX-1360P/D5 typically comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty covering defects and hardware issues. This is standard for mini-PC barebones like this, and it ensures you're covered for any manufacturing faults during that period. The warranty process usually involves contacting ASRock support directly or going through Newegg's customer service for an RMA.

In terms of the RMA experience, ASRock’s support is generally responsive, but turnaround times can vary depending on your location and part availability. For quicker resolution, it’s helpful to register the product and keep your receipt handy when requesting service. If you rely heavily on uptime, consider the potential downtime during an RMA when planning your system’s use.

Question 4

How does the Bareb ASRoc|NUC BOX-1360P/D5 R motherboard compare in value for money to other mini-ITX motherboards within the same price range?

Accepted Answer

The ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1360P/D5 offers solid value for money compared to other mini-ITX boards in its range, mainly because it integrates a 13th Gen Intel i7 processor with support for DDR5-4800 memory and dual 2.5 Gb LAN ports. Its compact barebone design with USB4 and quad-display support gives it a versatility edge for small-form-factor systems needing robust connectivity and display options.

Keep in mind this setup is a barebone system, so expect to add your own RAM and storage, which affects the overall cost. If you don't need the latest DDR5 or USB4, other mini-ITX boards might offer more customization or cheaper options, but they usually won't match the combination of a 13th Gen Core i7 and multi-display support at this size.

Question 5

What are the recommended cable management techniques and power connector specifications for setting up the Bareb ASRoc|NUC BOX-1360P/D5 R motherboard in a compact mini-PC case?

Accepted Answer

This barebone system uses a standard 120W power adapter, so cable management should prioritize keeping the power cable clear from ventilation paths and avoiding tight bends that could strain connectors. The compact size of 110 x 117.5 x 47.85mm means you’ll want to use short, flexible cables and tuck them neatly alongside the chassis edges or behind mounting brackets to maintain airflow and avoid clutter.

Since it supports multiple USB and display outputs, planning cable routing for those ports early can save hassle, especially if you plan to run a quad-display setup. In tight quarters, securing cables with small Velcro straps or zip ties helps prevent disconnections, but avoid overtightening to protect the slim connectors on this Mini-PC board.

Question 6

What are the dimensions and weight of the ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1360P/D5?

Accepted Answer

The dimensions of the ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1360P/D5 are 110.0 x 117.5 x 47.85mm, and it has a net weight of 1.0 KG.
