Can this tablet be used away from home???  I trust it can be recharged at home????? ............it can get all the info that is on my computer ???????           is that correct. Please answer all questions.

Use away from home?  The tablet would need internet access to get information.  You will need internet access "away from home", if you want to "use it" as if you are using it at home.  You can turn your cell phone into an hot-spot and connect to the internet via your cell-phone data plan.  Or you can connect to the public hot-spot.

You can recharge the tablet anywhere with a micro-USB charger.

Personally I won't get this tablet again.  It was really slow at first, then problem upgrading apps, then reboot for no reason.  Now it seems stable, but I can't believe the path it took to get to this stage.  Hardware spec seems decent, but there is no plan to release Android 5.0 for this device and Android 4.4.2 just don't cut it.  Battery life get use up overnight, not sure what the device is doing sitting there idling overnight.

This is the cheaper of the two model, and Asus don't seem to care about it any more.  I suggest got something cheaper with Android 5.0 or later.  The OS will offer smoother operation and save a bit more power sitting idle.

Which hard protective case did you guys use for this tablet??

I don't know how to use it yet. I need help to get it going. I'm not very computer savy so need someone to help me. As for the protective case ..... I will make one myself out of heavy sheets of flannel that you can bye already cut to size. Very easy ..... you can
sew them on 3 sides or glue them together. Sorry I'm not much help.

Does this tablet have gps functionality?

It has GPS. You can also use nearby wireless networks for location services instead to save battery, or use both methods at once for more accuracy.

Can this be used with Square? It needs a microphone and audio jack combo and this seems to have that.

Don't know if mic in and audio out work at the same time as I don't have a splitter to test that.  I can verify that the connection will work with either so I suspect that you'll be fine.

Is this tablet upgradeable to 5.0 lollipop?

No word from Asus so far. I heard an Android OS update was promised at some point, but Lollipop has been out for quite some time now and still no sign of it for this range of Asus tablets.

Still, KitKat is decent enough, aside from the obnoxious SD card security 'features'.
