I don't see anything that says that it won't.  As I read, "M.2 connector are PCI Express 3.0 & newer" so I am pretty sure that it will work so long as you have a drive with the NVMe M or B+M connector configuration (reference the pictures on item page) and it does not have an extra heat sink attached to it. I have heard of others having Gen4s function on Gen3 slots but still getting limited to that through put.

Additional point, if you are planning to buy a crazy fast NVMe drive to go into this then that would be a waste as it will be limited to the throughput of the enclosure. A low grade Gen3 drive would still max out this enclosures speeds.
