Pros: this is actully a good card. my stuff runs great now. for an inexpensive card, which is what i was looking for, this it has a lot of power behind it.

Cons: i had trouble getting it to work. i suggest going straight to the asus web site to download the drivers and dont use the disks if you are running vista.

Overall Review: newegg has this listed as a pci express x16 but its actully a 2.0 x16. who knew?

Pros: Ubuntu identified the card, offered to install the restricted drivers and restart the system, and upon reboot, everything worked as it should. Newly attached 20" monitor was found and proper resolution established automatically. Almost Mac like.

Cons: It's yesterday's technology, but for the price, it works quite well.

Overall Review: For $30 ($20 after rebate) this card seems hard to beat. I don't know how well it would work for a gaming rig, but for a Linux rig, it works awesome.

Cons: None at all, really. I put this in my HTPC for the main reason that it provides the output connections I need to hook to my TV; and should provide a better image than the onboard nvidia 6100 I did have. I was also hoping this card, expecially because of it's high overclock, would be able to Run Guitar Hero 3 PC Game. It does run it on low settings, however, there is a very slight lag to it. It is playable, but not perfect. Not really a Con, but just know this isn't a Gaming Card. If you want a Gaming card get at least an 8600GT.

Pros: This video card went into my everyday small business computer. Works well, web pages and other applications load faster with this card compared to the 1GB GeForce 8500 GT video card it replaced.

Cons: No fan on heatsink. I put in a 80MM PCI slot fan next to it and I have a 80MM side case fan blowing on it and it has not gotten over 37 degrees Celsius at full load. It did not like the drivers on the CD it came with for some reason, so I just got the newest ones from the nVIDIA website, works fine now.

Overall Review: Both the 8400 GS and the 8500 GT video cards have 16 stream processors in them, but this ASUS 8400 GS video card has a higher core and shader clock(s). I like this video card better then the 8500 GT it replaced.

Pros: Card is super quiet and is easy to install. I'm not a gamer, just looking for a good solid video card that works with my new HP and has DVI output. The card works fine after a few installation hiccups. After installation, my performance score suddenly dropped to 1.0 (from 3.0). Not what I expected. This changed after I downloaded the most up-to-date drivers from ASUS and rebooted. Now my score is 4.1.

Cons: CD manual isn't vista-ready, and automatically shuts down the aero interface so it can run. Wierd.

Pros: Slamd64: glxgears 500, with drivers 4000 FPS. Worked with CentOs and Sabayon Linux as well. Did a good job under Vista. Worked with Solaris. Well worth the price.

Pros: Good card. Works great in linux with vdpau it offloads mpeg2 and mpeg4 decoding to the GPU so now I get 15% CPU usage while playing HD H264 video.

Cons: There was a problem with the delivery but newegg fixed the issue and I thank them for that.

Overall Review: Guys and Gals do not worry about 60C temps. This card is made to handle almost 2 times that (115C) so 60C is actually low.

Pros: Works out of the box, great performance for HD video.

Overall Review: I upgraded from an FX 5200 card to be able to drive a 1080p HDTV on Linux. I'm very happy so far. The card configured itself out of the box. 1080p video is smooth. To an earlier poster claming that it is not PCI Express 1.0, that is not true. I am using this card on an older motherboard that only does PCIe 1.0 and it works fine.
