Great card obviously 7/23/2019 6:28:02 AM

Pros: I cant hear it, it looks good, very fast, tons of ram, no problem running games 1440 at 144hz. Averaging about 125fps in PUBG on Ultra. Was averaging about 100fps with 980ti on ultra. PUBG hasnt even been optimized.

I have owned 2 of these for 2 years now, almost to the day. Never have given me a single problem and I run them hard and often. They have certainly been worth the exorbitant price.

Cons: My only beef with this card is the lighting. For example the reds are not red but rather hot pink. So it looks red from the side but the ROG logo on the top looks hot pink to me. Im not gonna knock a star for this because compared to the Strix 980ti its huge improvement.

Overall Review: This card is great and i highly recommend it.

Simply One of the Best Ever! 3/18/2019 7:22:48 AM

Pros: Can't figure out what the complains are all about. Simply a kick *** card, and this is coming from an overpriced Titan X Maxwell. There's no comparison. It brought a new level of immersion to Oculus, everything is smoother. The issue of "sag" is baffling. I just used screws instead of relying on the tool-less braces, plus having a reinforced PCIe slot doesn't hurt. "Coil whine",
I don't hear no freakin' coil whine, I don't hear anything! Maybe when my stethoscope comes, I'll listen in. You will be taken aback when you see this thing up close. It's like putting an Airbus 380 next to an Md 80 And it IS heavier than avg., what do you expect? Too busy drooling over how FSX (box) has smoothed out to pay any attention to LED's and " Badlands". I can see this bad boy driving my 4k 144hz 32 inch with ease when they come out.
***UPDATE**** March 2019
Guess what? This is STILL a SUPER Card!! No heat issues , nothing slows it down (not even Manhattan X). I see
people on here talking about dead cards. What are you doing? Overclocking it way out of spec? THEN you want to get on here and say it's their fault?
On the con side, I guess pure and simple GREED has caused this thing to surge in price. GOOD GRIEF!

Cons: NO Cons, wish I could give it more stars.

Overall Review: I'd be SUPER hesitant to buy one of these at today's prices!

The BEST video card I have ever owned! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS! 11/10/2018 10:39:33 AM

Pros: Can play any of my games (old and new) at max settings without issues (I have my rig hooked up to a 60" Samsung KS8000, and play everything @ 4K with HDR....amazing!)
Can act as a heater for your room during those cold nights (I have an i7-5820K @ 4.125 Ghz with this card installed, and my living room gets VERY warm!)
AuraSync RGB lights......AWESOME! I have an Asus X99 Deluxe, but am waiting to purchase the Asus Rampage Vi Extreme when it becomes available so I can have the video card + mobo with the lights!
Worked right out of the box! No issues at ALL!

** UPDATE **

It's been at least a year since I have owned/used this card, and it is still running great! I have upgraded my system since then (see below), but have not had a SINGLE issue related to the card. I have never used it to mine crypto, nor have I overclocked it (never had the need to do that). and runs all my games buttery smooth (@ 2K or 4K resolution, depending on the game), without any hiccups at all....literally BUTTERY SMOOTH! Keep in mind that I am using a display with a 60 Hz refresh rate...so perhaps performance may be different at higher refresh rates. I was lucky enough to snag this card right before the ridiculous price increases, and definitely worth the price! I was replacing an Asus GTX 660 (which is STILL a decent card, and still using in my older system)…..I stick with brands that work. Loved this card so much, I actually purchased another one soon after (but not running SLI.....not interested in that....let my buddy use it in his rig, which is also still running great!). Using the Aura Sync software also works great...never had issues with that either.

Also, regarding my heater comment previously.....I can't place all the blame on the GPU.....it's my entire rig setup that acts as a heater as a whole...….the GPU temps contribute, but are totally fine!

Current setup:

Case: Thermaltake View 71 TG RGB
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage VI Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i9-7900X
Cooler: Thermaltake Floe Riing 360 TT RGB AIO
RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum ROG Edition 32 GB (4 x 8GB) 3200 MHz
Storage #1: Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB NVME (OS + Apps)
Storage #2: Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB NVME (Games + Apps)
Storage #3: Western Digital 1 TB mechanical (for downloads, random stuff)
Storage (other): 2 separate 4 TB mechanical in external USB3.0 enclosures
GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Ti OC Strix
Sound: Sound Blaster Zx
Power Supply: Seasonic Prime Platinum 1000 Watt
Keyboard: Logitech K800 Wireless Rechargeable
Mouse: Logitech G700s Wireless Rechargeable
Display: Samsung KS8000 60" LED TV
Speakers: Logitech Z5500 5.1 Digital (these speakers are INCREDIBLE! 13+ years and STILL WORKING GREAT!)

Cons: HEAVY! (I suggest getting a GPU brace, or using the strap that it comes with for additional support)
ALWAYS OUT OF STOCK! (I had to purchase mine somewhere else, and also had to cough up an itty-bitty premium for that chance!)
May need a G-Sync (or perhaps Freesync will also work?) monitor to take full advantage of card/refresh rates (unless your flat screen TV can display high refresh rates constantly)

** UPDATE **

I wish there was more Aura lighting around the card, as well as more options on the lighting variations.

Card works great with my TV (see my setup above), but my TV refresh rate is only 60 Hz. The new Samsung Q series LED TVs support 120 Hz natively I believe....may try upgrading to that. Since I use my TV for my PC display, I can't watch cable and use my computer at the same time.....but I can live with that.

Overall Review: It is an expensive product, and I have never spent that kind of money on a video card, but it was well worth it. I've always purchased midrange cards in the past, and got midrange performance (I like to turn on ALL graphical features). I'm definitely happy with my purchase, and I'm sure you will be as well!

** UPDATE **

I would still recommend this card if you can find a good deal (I personally never buy used computer parts...you never know what those components were put through)....the 2080 is not that much better performancewise. Perhaps get a 2080 Ti if you want a much bigger increase in performance...…

Also, I never turn on any sort of AA at all...to me, if you set the display at a high enough resolution, there is no need to turn AA on at all.....at 4K resolution, are you gonna see aliasing? Yes, if you are only a few inches away from the screen....go ahead and go blind if you want.

Card is dead after a couple days of use 10/18/2018 1:06:13 PM

Pros: .

Cons: I bought this card but had to wait to install it, as my case (very new) was not delivered on time. I am past the 30 days to return to Newegg. Once installed it worked for a couple days then died. I tried every driver I could find, new and old, to no avail. Tried a 1060 and a 1070 that are in other PCs in my house - both worked fine without any messing around.

Contacted Asus to get this resolved at Newegg's suggestion. It has been 5 days and somewhere around 5-6 phone calls. No resolution. They first took a couple days to decide I should send it to them for them to work on it "for 7-10 days." I asked about shipping time, and they conceded it would likely be more like 3-4 weeks. Then, when I said that was ridiculous they offered to get me a different card. I asked, "A NEW one?" They said no, a refurbished one. I refused that. I stated I want a new card or I just want my money back. NOW they want to try to find me a new card. It's been 24 hours and nothing.

Overall Review: Asus has really fallen off in the past few years. There are quality issues across the board and inflated price tags to go with it. If you check out reviews on numerous of their products you will see this is the case and how other manufacturers have closed the gap/surpassed them. Their threadripper mobos have dead DIMM slots and their B450 mobos have been surpassed by MSI at a lesser price. Apparently, customer service is also not their specialty.
