Solid product not a problem with it! 11/27/2018 9:13:18 PM

Pros: Set up was quite easy, pulled out my old 560Ti, dropped in the 960.

Primarily a game machine, saw some of my 30-40 variable fps games move right to 60 fps (limited) If I let the card have it's head those games were over 100 fps.

The only game that is problematic for this card is Elite: Dangerous...only during planetary landings. Only getting 35-45 fps.

This was my first card that could use the NVidia streaming/screen cap programming...saw no difference between that and video programs like OBS. Solid performance all around.

As far as temps/fans/noise this runs 30 C (around 50 C) UNDER my 560, at 99% load...and the fans never go over 50% load..so, for me this card is HUGELY quieter than my old 560Ti.

Cons: So far there are no cons...the drivers were the same as my old 560Ti, the machine just switched over to them. I would tell folks to always download the current drivers from NVidia...never us a manufacturers disk...there is hardly ever anything useful on those disks.

Overall Review: Definitely a solid purchase for folks a little short on cash...a solid performer with a very good price to performance ration.

Just an update, this card is now 2 years old and still working....really great purchase!

Perfect GPU. Exceeds my expectations. 5/7/2016 3:26:31 PM

Pros: Quiet, easy to install, and one of the best looking designs.
The body is strong and sturdy.
I use it for high-end gaming and now my games run better and the fps are higher.
The price was excellent. Well worth it.

Cons: For the short time that I've had it, I don't see any flaws with it.
So for now, I have no cons.

Overall Review: I highly recommend it.
I'm going to buy another one and use it via SLI with the other.

Purchased for 4K UHD video capabilities 12/19/2015 4:14:27 AM

Pros: Runs cool with no fan noise, just the ticket for a HTPC.

Cons: I don't care for the placement of the aux power connector on top of the card. Doesn't lend itself to lower profile HTPC cases.

Overall Review: I've just purchased an OLED 4K television and wanted to upgrade the video capabilities of my HTPC that I built ~ 4 or 5 years ago. My HTPC used a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H motherboard with a Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition @ 3.2 Ghz. The M/B had a PCI E slot, version one so when I initially installed the ASUS GTX 960 I would get output right up until the time that the new driver loaded and then my display went blank. It worked as long as Windows thought it was a basic video card and the resolution was set below HD resolution. I knew that the Asus had a PCI e Version 3 interface but I also knew that it would be backward compatible to Version 2. So..... wanting to keep expenses to a minimum by utilizing my existing CPU and memory I bought an Asus M5A99FX PRO motherboard which has the 990FX chipset. This configuration supports my Phenom CPU and memory and utilizes a Version 2 PCIe. I installed the new motherboard and fired it up. Same result. No video once the Nvidia drivers were loaded. Not a happy camper. I had completely uninstalled all prior version of the Nvidia drivers so it was a clean install. After musing over the problem and not wanting to be outsmarted by a video card I remembered that I had purchased new, high speed, Ultra HD, 4K super duper HDMI cables. As a last ditch effort I replaced my original HDMI cable. Out with the old and in with the new. Success! My wife and I are now totally enjoying our UHD video. In retrospect the card would probably have worked in my old motherboard had I thought to try changing the HDMI cable. I'm not going to tell my wife though......

Solid Performance and Price, a little loud 12/18/2015 3:07:59 PM

Pros: +Very happy with performance in all games so far
+Runs cool
+I've had terrific experience with Asus cards and hoping for the same with this
+Low power consumption
+Solid Black Friday price and rebate

Cons: -The fan is not quiet. If this is a turnoff for you, maybe this is not your card

Overall Review: I purchased this for a family member when his previous card died. The performance so far has blown him away, so I am thrilled that he likes the card. I went back and forth between Nvidia and AMD comparable cards and even though I conceded that AMD might offer better performance for the money, my experience with Nvidia ultimately won out. From Driver support to gadgets and new innovations, Nvidia has been my choice for my PCs for years. In addition, my Asus products have rarely let me down and their support/warranty led to me choosing them again.

I couldn't give the card 5 stars because of the fan noise, which I legitimately wasn't expecting to be as loud as it is. Other than that, everything else about the card has been great.

As a side note, the 4GB option at $20-30 more is a very good deal. It wasn't in the budget in this case, but it's a solid upgrade to consider.

My PC doesn't give off an image when the graphics card is installed 12/18/2015 3:01:32 PM

Pros: wish there were any but I haven't been able to get good use of it

Cons: PC works just fine without the graphics card installed, but when I plug the graphics card in I don't get any image on my monitor. Fans and lights work when the PC is turned on but still no picture.

Overall Review: I believe that the graphics card may have been dead on arrival. Gonna get a replacement and see if that helps.

Cooler not impressive 12/17/2015 8:10:38 AM

Pros: This card ran just fine as far as performance. It comes with a slight overclock. The cooler exhausts out of the case similar to an OEM cooler, which can be a benefit for small cases.

Cons: I am not impressed with the ASUS cooler design on this card. The white plastic shroud feels thin and cheap. Also, the fan on this cooler had a very audible droning sound at idle. As the fan spins up during gaming the droning is amplified on top of the typical blower fan hair dryer sound. I returned this card simply because I felt there was something wrong with the fan. I suspect there was a fan bearing issue.

Overall Review: I'd probably stick with a card that uses the stock Nvidia cooler over this cooler. It seems a little cheap for an aftermarket design. I ended up returning due to the fan noise that I suspect if a fault fan. I ended up purchasing a different model completely.
