Question 1

I want to make sure I have a good enough power supply for one of these. I currently have a Corsair HX850 PSU, good enough?

I'm using a Corsair 550 PSU with an Asus Z97 Motherboard and a Haswell 2nd gen 4GHz CPU and 32GB of DDR3. I have a blu ray burner, 2 SSDs stripped and a 2TB HD i had lying around. I can play any game that I own, including Skyrim at 4k using a Seiki 39" TV if I turn down the AA setting in the game and run at Ultra Resolution settings.  The 550W PSU doesn't complain, and the system is so quite I can't hear it sitting right next to me.

How Much Power does this need, I guess 500-600W  ( Oveclock)?

The requirements on the Nvidia site are a minimum 500 W PSU.  I'm running a 550 W PSU (Admittedly a Kingwin platinum PSU with a promise for being able to work up to 650 W) and I haven't had any problems powering this thing.  With the power connection this has you should only be able to pull a max of 225W through.  150W through the 8 pin connector and 75 through the PCI bus.  So as long as the rest of your components use less than 250 W you should be fine pushing this card up a ways.  Of course if you overclock you might end up pulling more power through the connections than anticipated so, as always, do at your own risk.  In a nutshell: in theory a 550-600W PSU would probably be doable for a decent overclock, depending on what other components you have in your box.  If you're going to go really OC happy probably 600-700, again, depending on what else you have in your box that might be power hungry.  If you're overclocking your CPU on top of it then I'd say go the next step up.  Don't skimp on your PSU though, make sure you get a quality one (Be it 550 or 700), otherwise you may end up with an expensive brick.

I haven't overclocked the card currently because I haven't really needed to.  Thing plays everything I've thrown at it smoothly 1920x1080, DSR is amazing with older games.  I can even play with the DSR at 2880x1620 on Borderlands 2 (more comfortable IMO than the full 4K res).  I think I'm more CPU limited in some of the games I play (Anno 2070)
Crysis 1 plays incredibly smoothly at max settings.  Only somewhat intense game I have that I haven't tested yet to the max is the latest Tomb Raider.

power requirements? The specs do not list and there is no depiction of the type of power input, two 6pin ? one 6 one 8 pin? etc etc?

How many monitors will this card support?

Up to 4 if you use both DVI ports, the HDMI, and the 'display port' port.  All ports can be used at the same time according to reviews of this card.

So i was wondering if it came with a case badge? My asus gtx 660 didn't and it was really hard to cope with. If it does then it will save me a lot of time an money spent on counseling. Thanks

It does not come with a case badge. But the good news is you can make your own with a post-it note to save money on counseling.

Yes. Absolutely! Using one (1) card with two Asus 27" monitors. Had since September 2014, and so far, very happy with this card.

My system uses a Corsair 650 watt power supply but it is overkill for the GTX970.  My power supply is carried over from use with a GTX560-ti board which used much more power.  I believe a good 500 watt power supply is more than enough to support a single GTX970 board - as long as it has the proper connectors.

I'm going to buy this in a while, how much watts does this card take up? I have a 750w power supply and I want to know if it could run on that power supply. If not, then tell me how much it takes up and what power supply I should choose for this.

I'm running this card with a 550W 80+ platinum rated PSU.   I'm also running an i5 2400 with 4 HDDs and 2 SSDs along with 32 GB of RAM.  TDP for this card is only 175 W so You should be fine.  As long as you have a good quality PSU you could probably run these cards in SLI if you wanted to.

Minimum power requirement is 500w. So you should be ok.  Hopefully your power supply is decent single rail design with good efficiency and an 8pin pci-e adapter for the via.

MY PSU does not have an extra 8 pin connector can i use an adapter to use this with a 6 pin?

I have a Corsair RM 750 modular PSU.  It has a cable with a 6-pin and a two pin plug attached to it.  i used these in combination, and it worked just fine.  Great card!  Good luck, Ed.
