Question 1

My laptop is too big. Need tablet for Wi-Fi hotspots, and working GPS like a Garmin unit. Can I attach a flash drive from my desktop with pictures and documents ?

Hi Tom,

There are two ways to move your pictures to this tablet.

The first requires nothing more than the USB data cable that ships with this (or any) tablet. By this method the tablets storage space may be viewed as a 'multimedia device' (in other words it'll look like a USB thumb drive, a memory card from a camera, or the storage space on a .mp3 player).

The other method would be to move your photos to a Micro SD card (up to 32GB) via a card reader (USB card readers are also available and inexpensive if your computer does not have one) and then insert the Micro SD card into the card slot built in to this tablet (and many others - not all tablets though, be sure and check before you buy if this feature is important to you).

Has any of your customers used the Square device with it to run
credit cards and take money?

I don't use the Square device but I was able to install the Square app which tells me that it's compatible with this tablet. I have also a Samsung GSII smartphone and when an app can't install on the tablet it tells me right away but for the Square app there was no such message.

Can you watch streaming videos?

Yes, you can watch any streaming video that will play on Android, such as Netflix.  Some flash-based streaming video that is not supported on Android will not play.

does it have bluetooth and some have 1.2 quad core processor do u have 1 with these specs?

No Bluetooth.

Not sure of the processor, but its not overly slow like some other cheap tablets I've used.

Had to call ASUS to re-enter the tablet in their database in order to get firmware updates.  Couldn't use "paid" apps until it was up to date.  However, took 3 or 4 calls and several emails before I found an ASUS tech that knew that it needed to be re-added to their DB.  Very frustrating.  Not impressed with ASUS help desk techs.

not sure what happened to the CD that came with it (kids) but I need a driver to install, can you help?

Search for the driver within the Asus website, install it and remember to restart after installing it. If this doesn't work, try to refresh by right clicking on the screen and them scan for update. If you still having an issue then look for the icon with the yellow Icon with the "!" mark. right click them update driver select" browse in the computer" then select "let me pick from list" and look for asus and choose the MTP. Reset the computer this should work
