Can ASUS TF700T be used as a smartphone?

Unfortunately I received this item in the mail smashed and returned it for replacement. I was informed the Asus was discontinued. I got my money back and tried for 3 Days to find and purchase it somewhere else with no luck. I finally ended up getting a Nexus 10 tablet and am very happy with this tablet. I have owned the Nexus for a few months and highly suggest this tablet over the Asus.

Need to buy docking station/keyboard for TF700T?

You don't necessarily need the keyboard dock and can use the device strictly as a tablet. The advantage of the dock is that it doubles the battery life since the dock has an additional on board battery. The dock also provides physical protection for the tablet and the keyboard keys are much bigger than those on the tablet touch screen.
