is this wifi ready or can I set it up to have automatic Wi-Fi build in?

This tablet is WiFi Ready.  It will automatically discover any wireless networks in it's vicinity.  You will need to know the password for the wireless network you want to connect to, but the tablet can be set to remember the password and automatically connect to that network whenever it is in range.  This is a great tablet and the lucky recipient will be very happy with it.

Does this come with the charger, or must I purchase one separately?

I bought this with the docking station.  As I recall, it was the docking station which included the charger, not the tablet.

I highly recommend the docking station though because:

1) It protects the tablet screen
2) It has a second battery
3) It makes typing sooo much easier
4) It includes the charger (but any USB charger will do if you have the ASUS proprietary cable

"Combo savings with docking station purchase, limited offer" Does that mean it comes with a keyboard? What is the difference between this one and item # 9B-34-231-027 for $20 less?

If you want to get the combo savings, you need to go down below the specs and look for Combo, if the combo you want is not showing, look for See or Browse more Combos.  When you see the one you want, click the Buy this Combo button.
That is the only way you get the right price .. not by adding the items yourself individually.  Once you've added the combo you want, check your cart to be sure that it's all that's in the cart and that you don't have the item from the top of the page by itself (in case you'd already added it to your cart).  Hope this helps clear up taking advantage of a Combo special.

is this product is upgradeable to jelly bean?

The short answer is yes.

If you check the ASUS Support site, you will see that the current software revision is 4.2.1.

If you dig a little deeper, you find numerous 4.2 and 4.3 ROMs on the XDA developers forums and even several developers who are working to bring 4.4 to this device.

is thjis like new. is there any scratches around it? how long is the asus warranty of the unit

I got mine back in July and it was new for all intensive purposes. No scratches or anything wrong with it. The battery life is fantastic, and I haven't had any issues. Asus is really good with their warranties, and as someone who has been buying their products for well over 15 years, you can count on getting a quality product. Plus for the price, this is a steal

what color is it?

the color is sort of a silverish greyish, with a tinge of purple or violet....kind of reminds me of a purpleish taupe color.  A little different coloring in different lights.  I've never seen a color like it.  It actually looks very distinctive  and high quality.  I think it's beautiful.

hello wanted to know what it means that a product is REFURBISHED??? is why the tablet comes less than normal? manufactures have had problems?

A refurbished tablet simply means one of two things: The tablet was returned because the customer was dissatisfied/didn't want it; or there was a minor issue that warranted the return of the device. Whatever the case may be, the device is sent through an inspection that the manufacturer sets up to ensure that the device is sellable and functions within the parameters that device needs to fall in between in order to be considered a quality device. There may be minor imperfections on the device (a minor scratch, blemish, etc.) that in no way reduces the functionality of the device. If the manufacturer needs to replace or fix a part, it will and then send the device through the inspection.

yes, I purchased mine refurbished and it has performed perfectly since I bought it.  It gets regular use.  At the same time I purchased a new docking unit/ key pad that you attach the Asus pad to and it makes it like a mini lap top.  I've enjoyed it and purchased this as opposed to a small windows 8 system because I wanted to try the ASUS and Android operating system.
