The last motherboard with such a design. What a Classic. 11/10/2016 12:23:44 AM

Pros: Lots of fan headers. It was fast and had all the features I needed at the time. It looked great and the audio was not too bad.

Cons: Man, this board would run hot. I had a Scythe 3,000 RPM "ULTRA KAZE" 120mm fan cooling the chipset from the side of the case. The memories.

Overall Review: I accidentally killed the motherboard and sold it for parts.

4+ years and going strong 10/25/2013 9:19:07 AM

Pros: MB is solid and reliable: been running for 4+ years. After a boot drive fail I'm rebuilding as a Hard Drive farm. Took Windows 7 Pro x64 without a hitch. Plenty of no-board fan headers. 6 SATA connectors.

Cons: Only one IDE Header

Overall Review: Super MB layout for me to take advantage of all the "old" IDE drives I've got laying around. With only one on-board IDE I'm using one Koutech PIR133 PCI IDE Controller Card for RAID ( two 1T Stripes ) and a couple of StarTech 2port PCI cards. With the fan headers and a modified CoolMaster case I'll be spinning a minimum of ten drives within a fan packed wind tunnle....

Pros: Good way to bridge the gap between older (IDE, PCI) and newer (SATA, PCI-E) interfaces. Quality circuitry; purchased this in 2006 and it worked fine until I finally retired it from daily use a little over a year ago. Just fired it up again recently and it still runs fine.

Cons: After a year or so the fan retention bracket eventually broke under the weight of aftermarket cooling (AC Freezer 64 Pro). Was easily replaced though.

Southbridge is HOT. Idles in the 40'sC in open air, 60C in a case. The radiator positioning almost makes sense -- placing it to the left of the CPU means that it will get some air with the right cooling system... but then the IO ports (and shield) immediately to the left of that means that the air has no place to go. Elevating the radiator up an inch or so off of the board would have placed it next to the case exhaust, creating a functional push-pull system between the CPU and exhaust fans.

Overall Review: Keep your case open and you've got yourself a nice space heater.

Work Good For A While 5/30/2012 4:21:30 AM

Pros: Great board while it lasted. Had everything I wanted on it when I bought it back Oct 2007. Ran a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 3.2GHz on this board.

Cons: First board to ever fail on me. would not even post.

Overall Review: Im not knocking Newegg an egg cause from what Ive read in reviews this was a problematic board from the manufacture. I did get 3 years of use out of it. RIP!

Great little board 11/7/2011 7:25:37 AM

Pros: Board BIOS is fully upgradeable for most processors (check here http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2NE/#CPUS )
Uses older DDR2 memory
PCiE-X16
Uses some Phenom II processors
Ganged or Unganged modes for Memory

Cons: Board is no longer sold here.
Lower transfer rates
DDR2 memory
Single Video port

Overall Review: I owned this board for more than 2 years started with an AMD Athlon 64X2 processor, flashed the BIOS to the most recent and installed an AMD Phenom X4 9850, for greatly improved performance
