ASUS M4A78LT-M LE AM3 AMD 780L Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: I have never overclocked anything before. This motherboard automatically did the work for me. When I powered my build up the first time it automatically unlocked a core on my CPU and set automatic overclock settings for my CPU and RAM. Its been running smooth with no problems.

Cons: Only two memory slots on the board, which limits future upgrade potential.

Overall Review: paired with an AMD Athlon II X3 435 Rana 2.9GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor Model ADX435WFGIBOX it runs as a quad core phenom II with no problems.

Pros: A decent board for the price. Unlocked my triple core 2.9 without me having to do much thinking. At my age, (60), alot of thinking is painful. The only problem that I had was giving the onboard video to much to eat. I gave it a full gig of system memory and it went wild, BSOD, etc. After I cut memory down to half a gig the video became as stable as an add on video card that breaks the bank cost wize. Not as good as the old Abit boards, but a good solid board for the money.

Cons: Not much in the way of cons. Hey, you get what you pay for. Newbies, read the manual front to back before you start plugging stuff in. Spare yourself the pain.

Overall Review: In 20 years of buying Asus boards, I have yet to have one go bad before it's time. I just retired an Asus board that I used for 6 years without any trouble.

Pros: Unlocked the 4 cores for me too on a 3.2 gig AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition Callisto. Loaded down with memory tbis machine honks. If you don't know, VirtualDub is video processing software. It puts a heavy load on the CPU, and eats memory for breakfast. But what used to take many, many minutes now takes a few, and what took a few minutes takes seconds. VideoPad (different from VirtualDub) usually finishes in less time than it takes to get a refill.

Cons: The rebate is a bad joke. Asus, what's the matter with you? If that's the best you can do just don't bring up the subject in the first place.

Overall Review: By choice I run the built-in video and audio. Hulu and YouTube both work fine using AT&T 6-meg service (5.7 meg download actual). By the way, a graphics card, if you have one, is for games, not video processing. Video processing is done by the CPU and memory. No gamer here, but I'm pleased as punch with me. A kickbutt machine for something under $300. Pros: seems good for the time I have been able to boot it up.

Cons: couldn't get it to boot pass the express gate screen, which is the first screen u get, but figured the trick to it.

Overall Review: wouldn't boot. to get it boot i had to turn it on with out a hard drive plugged in to it to get to the bios, the get in the bios and turn off the express gate. After I did that it seems to work fine.

Pros: Bought this to throw in a MicroATX tower with a 585W PSU. The case came packaged well, with enough SATA cables and good directions. Everything went smoothly, no problems at all. All the drivers installed easily. Put in an AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition, ATI 4770, and 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM, great budget-gaming build for under $550

Cons: None that come to mind, only time will tell.

Pros: unlocked my Ph II 555 BE to a Quad, OCs pretty well, DDR3 1800, pretty good board layout, stays cool even when all slots are full. Exellent board for the budget or mini builder

Cons: on board video is useless for anything except web browsing (expected), could have more DIMMS and PCI 2.0 slots (well it is a mATX, after all), cant really push OCs as high as I would like.

Overall Review: When i bought this board, i was most worried about fitting everything on it. Well, it is bigger than it looks. I got a GTS 250 vid card, wireless card, and sound card to fit nicely on it (1 PCI, 1 PCI-e, and 1 PCI 2.0). You can install "tall" RAM on this board if you use a "tower" type heat sink.

Pros: I built a system for my daughter nearly 6 years ago. In that time frame, I've upgraded the CPU twice, added more memory and replaced the hard drive once. This system still has plenty of years left in it. And this ASUS motherboard is still working (nothing has broken on it)

Cons: None

Overall Review: Not sure if this is still sold, if it is, its been of great value to us.

Pros: I've been using these for new workstation builds for the office for months, and also its previous incarnations for over a year now. Great board, small footprint, stable and does what I need it to do. I build them with AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processors, very quick and flawless performance.

Cons: As some have mentioned, the parallel port is a separately purchased dongle. This isn't a concern for me, but it may be for some.

Overall Review: I may look at upgrading BIOS as another reviewer has suggested. Thus far however I've had no issues with the factory installed BIOS, but I'm not trying to do anything fancy with it either.
