Pros: Easy to set up
Very well built
Fairly small footprint for an EGPU that can fit regular size GPUs.
It's Silent when idle and fairly quiet under normal gaming load.
Extra Gen2 Usb C port for connecting extra peripherals even though I don't need it. It's nice option to have.
Cons: Did not come with US power supply cord. Not a big deal but still it should have been included.
Overall Review: I paired this with an Intel Hades Canyon NUC and I am using a GTX 1080 ti. Performance is outstanding especially at higher resolutions. 4k gaming is very playable with most of my games with varying tweaks to the graphical settings depending on the game.
Pros: Can house some of the biggest cards easily. Stays cool under load. High quality enclosure.
Cons: Not very portable due to large power supply.
Overall Review: I bought this to go with my 2018 Mac Mini. The computer has an i5 8500 six core CPU, 32gb of DDR 4 and a 256gb ssd. Only thing missing is the GPU. That’s where this puppy comes in. This enclosure works perfectly with the RX480 in Mac OS. Dare i say it works better in Mac OS than i does in windows. Mac OS just recognizes the enclosure and gpu no problem and just puts them to use.
Playing games in windows is surprisingly good. You do get a performance hit but it’s not as bad as you would think. I can play games at high settings at 2560x1080 with very decent frame rates. Hovering around the 50-69fps mark consistently. It’s very nice to have the option to upgrade a computers gpu that otherwise would’ve never been able to before.
Cons: Doesn’t work
Overall Review: 0
Pros: Great concept
Cons: Not compatible with GTX 1650.
Not compatible with Macbooks. It can detect it, but doesn't actually use it for external displays.
Not compatible with Windows 10. It causes the OS to freeze as soon as you connect it to the TBT port.
ASUS website claims it is compatible with all of the above.
Overall Review: Judging from other reviews this is device generally doesn't work, and from my experience I would say no one should buy this unless they enjoy collecting expensive paperweights. I do so there is that.
Pros: - Easy to install and setup
- Works perfectly with a Quadro P4000 card
- Runs quietly.
- 1.5 m active Thunderbolt 3 cable in the box.
Cons: - For this product, I will say non that I have seen.
Overall Review: If you need to have an EGPU I will recommend this one over the razer core. For one simple reason, the power supply is outside the enclosure; there is less heat in the enclosure. Thus your GPU will run quieter. It is overall an excellent product.
Newegg shipped faster than I anticipated.
Pros: As always with ASUS, the build quality is excellent, the setup is easy, and the performance is excellent. It was recognized right away by my ASUS GL702VS. I do recommend reinstalling the latest Nvidia drivers for a nice clean setup.
Cons: The other reviews are correct that it did not come "US power" ready. I had a standard 3pin grounded power cable laying around. (IEC320 C13 to NEMA 5-15P)
Overall Review: The thunderbolt3 cable included is 1.5m, so i did need to get a longer one to run this to my TV from my laptop.
