Very easily! The VRM will easily support even the upcoming 3950X, and will also allow you to overclock both CPU’s with out any complications. Very good board, though I would recommend updating the BIOS as soon as you get it. Had some issues with the board before I updated the BIOS that went away with the update! Highly recommend the board!!!

Question 2

Will this board support pci-e gen 3.0 m.2 devices with 3rd gen Ryzen CPUs?

Yes it supports it.  It's backwards compatible with the earlier generations of PCI devices.  I'm running a gen 4 NVMe drive on mine and it works great, but it will run any of them.  Note that there's a heat shield on this motherboard, so for some of the Gen 4 devices, which have built in heat dissipators of their own, you may have to choose between removing one of the onboard heat dissipation shields, or the one on your NVMe drive.  I chose to pop off the one over the M.2_2 port and keep the big copper covers that came with my stock NVMe drive, and it seems to work fine that way.  A normal NVMe PCI-e drive with no added heatsink hardware on it should fit under the provided heatsink shield just fine though.

Question 3

Are the m.2 heatsinks good enough to cool a corsair mp600?

I have both of these, and no they definitely aren't up to the cooling capacity of the original Corsair heatsink. Another thing to note is how far the Corsair heatsink sticks out. I have an extension cable to mount my 2080 Super vertically, so it doesn't affect me, but I could see it easily posing a problem if you want to use the gen 4 slot and a graphics card in the top most x16 slot.

Question 4

Anyone have a rough estimate of their post time?  I've been seeing 30 seconds only for x570 boards in general (just to get to the windows starting screen)--that would drive me crazy--but that was with early BIOS.

I have the F10 bios and my bios time is 19.6 seconds (checked via task manager). I am using a NVMe ssd boot drive with a SATA ssd and HDD as storage drives.

Also, it says the bios time is 19.6 seconds, but it feels a lot shorter; just my two cents.

Question 5

Can this board run a single GPU in the second PCIe slot at x16 or only at x8?

According to my User Guide, as well as the specifications tab here, PCIe slots one and two run at x16.  They drop to x8 when both slots are occupied.  I'm running two RX 580 GPUs in Crossfire mode until I can upgrade to an AIB RX 5700XT when they become available.  My video editing software does take advantage of the 16 GB of GPU processing power.

Question 6

Is the QVL for SSD and M.2 SSD drives current and exclusive?  I want to look at a 2T M.2 SSD, but there are only 2 total 2T SSDs supposedly supported.  I would like to know if the Crosshair VIII Wi-Fi supports WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD M.2 2T OR NVMe or other versions of M.2 models.

Checking the Asus website, it states the ZP2000GM3A002-2TB (FireCuda 520 SSD) is supported, but I have a mp600 1T, and a Sabrent 1T pcie 4.0 drive in mine. The Sabrent works fine even though there is no stated support. clock speeds are almost identical on both drives, after both firmwares were updated to the latest and greatest.

if I replave with this motherbors will my ram and pro work and vido card?

Yes you'll be fine.  When dealing with amd it's simple. If the socket, in this case "AM4" matches you're good to make the swap. Gets more complicated with Intel and chipsets. But yes your. Cpu, gpu, and RAM should all be fine, just be sure to update to the latest bios.

Question 8

Can you manually set the chipset fan to a quiet mode or custom fan curve through bios/software (or just turn it off completely)? Also, the chipset fan looks like it would be accessible for replacement based on the screws in the picture- can anyone confirm whether it can be accessed?

I didn't see an option for the chipset fan in the BIOS, though I may have missed it. That being said, I can't hear the chipset fan when it runs. It cannot be replaced. The screws you're referring to are used to hold a plastic cover in place, not the actual fan.

does this mobo have a header to plug in a USB 3.1 cable? I have the Lian Li Lancool ii and it has an optional usb C port that I plan on using if possible. Thanks!

USB naming conventions have changed again, but I think the answer to your question is yes. The board has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 connector - your USB 3.1 cable should plug into the USB 3.2 Gen 2 connector.
