An excellent ITX Motherboard, just a bit pricey... 11/14/2019 2:54:41 PM

Pros: - Great aesthetics and appealing design
- More than enough ports on the IO
- Bios is intuitive and easy to navigate

Cons: - A lot more expensive compared to competitors like Gigabyte and AS ROCK
- Asus Aura Sync is a complete nightmare

Overall Review: If you have the extra cash in your pocket and the additional ports are a must have, I would absolutely recommend this motherboard. If you are buying this strictly for the name (ROG), I would suggest you you save yourself $80+ and opt for the Aorus X570 or ASROCK. Personally, I am not a fan of the design of the ASROCK, which sucks because it is the only ITX that offers Thunderbolt.
Overall, awesome motherboard and I am very happy with it.

Epics Little beast of a Motherboard 11/13/2019 10:03:19 AM

Pros: Everything so far.....I have absolutely no complaints on the build. The Heatsink for the NVE drive is great. I love it

Cons: None thus far

Overall Review: I purchased this board for a planned gaming build. I have it running a Ryzen 3600, Asus R9 Nano (White), 32GB Corsair Dominators, 1x corsair MP600 on the top, and a Samsung pro on the bottom M.2 Port. So far everything works flawlessly. I had an issue with Cruical ballistic memory overclocking on this board so thats why i switched to Dominators. x570 board love fast ram. I guess the 2400mhz crucial sticks wasn't enough speed.

With the Nano I only game in 1440p and the system works great.

PCB warped 11/11/2019 2:00:49 PM

Overall Review: Board seems to be functioning correctly, but I noticed the PCB is badly warped on one edge. Anyone else notice this on their boards?

Tight Screw - Damaged Board 11/8/2019 10:09:49 PM

Pros: love the board.....

Cons: The only con I have is one of the top m.2 screws will not unscrew. Started to round it out and ended up trying a balloon before i was completely rounded out. No Luck.... Since i had 1 screw out it looked like i could spin the cover out of the way in order to install the m.2. This worked.... However, I didn't seen the pins connecting the top m.2 to the board and snapped them.... At this point i realized I was stuck with the board and a return wasn't going to happen.............

Overall Review: I'd probably get the board again and hope i could get the screw out.....

Easy 5 stars if my board wasn't damaged..

Manufacturer Response:
Dear daniel,

I'm sorry to hear that you accidentally damaged the board while removing the M.2 screws. I certainly understand your dissatisfaction with the quality of the product and your concern regarding the product being damaged accidentally. ASUS provides warranty coverage in order to fix or repair any product that may stop working prematurely under normal usage, however ASUS does not cover accidental damage. Is your board still functional? Did you just lose the M.2 connection? If you have any general or technical questions, please email me at cl-lane@asus.com and include a link to this review for reference.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Lane

X570 on MiniITX - Great so Far 11/7/2019 10:24:04 AM

Pros: 3900X screaming fast even with multiple VM's in background. Using 2x PCIE gen3 drives in RAID which is nuts fast for copying larger files and game load times.

I'm using the stock AMD cooler until I get a new case and I'm very impressed. Under idle it's as quiet as my old setup with Noctua CPU cooler.

Haven't even tried the 1.0.0.4 update that just came out, will reply back if RAID array survives the bios update. I'm a few weeks on this board now no issues.

This board has all the bells and whistles in a tiny package. NOTE.. the RAM it's pointless unless you want to tweak carefully the OC to go above 3600mhz on RAM. I didn't read enough ahead about the Matise AMD 3000, and 1800mhz is max stock or you decouple from the infinity fabric bus speed making anything faster than that pointless. So get good 3600mhz ram and you are fine. I used HyperX HX440C19PB3AK2/16 (best price for 3600 and on the Asus approved list for Matisse) and very stable at 3600 with tight timings too, Asus rated for 4000 but again that is pointless. It's RGB ram that works out of the box to sync to the Aura motherboard/CPU cooler RGB if you care about that.

Running with Strix 2080 Super, 4k gaming now a reality at 30+ fps ultra settings on anything! Haven't tried 1440 or 1080, but reports are almost no bottleneck from CPU even at high fps.

Cons: Only complaint that I did get working was how to do RAID with 2 NVME. I thought the NVME second drive was top mounted just from looking at board pictures I figured it's double stacked, but it is mounted under the motherboard and the top is just the heat sync and riser, good since it keeps bottom of drive cool I guess. Thinking I might get heat sync tape for NVME on bottom to touch the side of the case for additional cooling, but would have to remove the motherboard again.

I've built many PC's but this one the NVME placement was the only thing that threw me on this build, the rest is top notch and straight forward. It's a tight board though and the NVME riser may interfere with your CPU cooler if it's bigger than the stock one, I expect any AIO water cool is fine.

BIOS - figuring out how to do RAID took some playing around, check out Level1Tech vid for good instructions. You have to wipe drive for it to work basically and do things in the right order. Then to get Windows Installer to see the RAID drive you have to download from AMD (at time not Asus) the RAID drivers and Windows did not detect this well during install, you have to manually pick the 3 drivers in the right order and then it works, select option to load even though it doesnt find a match with the auto-scan.

Overall Review: I played with memory timings a bit but other than that Ryzen 3000 OC's out of the box so you aren't going to squeeze much more performance out of it.

The amount of performance in this small board is crazy. It's maybe a bit premium priced, but there are limited options for X570 besides this.

No complaints whatsoever. 11/5/2019 11:33:30 AM

Pros: It's great all around.

Cons: You have to plug everything in before mounting a CPU heatsink.

Overall Review: I guess this board sucks for people who have never built a PC before and this is obviously the best SFF board you can get currently for an AMD build. I had no problems taking off the M.2 heatsink for a Corsair MP600 to fit, and I got the Noctua NH-D15 cooler to mount perfectly fine inside of a Fractal Design Core 500 case. Everything overclocks better than on my previous MSI X470 Gaming Plus and surprisingly runs cooler as well. Apparently Mini-ITX PCs don't run hot at all like everyone says they do. Definitely get this ASUS motherboard if you are looking to create an awesome Mini-ITX build.

DO NOT BUY IT If you are using pcie gen 3 riser + 5700xt or a Cryorig c7, 10/28/2019 4:17:04 PM

Pros: RGB
Nice build quality
It's ROG

Cons: - No PCIE mode switch in BIOS that literately killed my build
- Giant Heatsink that interfere with cpu Coolers

Overall Review: I had waited for this board for months for my dream itx build. But it was a total nightmare after I tried it.

I got a 3700x, 5700xt and a Dan cases sfx A4 v3. When building the system, I found out that my Cryorig c7 cu cpu cooler interferes with the giant heatstink, so the cooler cannot be fully mounted on the provided cpu backplate. I managed to loosen the screws on the cooler side to reach the bracket, and tightened the screws afterwards. But it did not work, the cpu temp reached 95 c in stress test. I check the thermal paste and found that the paste on the problematic side does not spread out well, meaning the contact was not firm. Why putting such a giant headsink in the tight area? Is this really necessary?

Another problem is related to its BIOS. My case came with a gen 3 riser, which is not compatible with the 5700xt in the default pcie gen 4 mode. I encountered constant BSODs when installing driver for my 5700xt, cannot even get the windows started. Surprisingly, in BIOS there is no setting to switch pcie mode from gen 4 to gen 3, that basically made my computer useless. This is a very common setting in X570 motherboards, both Asrock and Gigabyte have it, but this board doesn't. So this basically gave a death penalty for my build unless Asus release a new BIOS to add the option.

So after struggling for a few days, I decided to return the mobo and got myself a Gigabyte x570 itx. I had a very high hope on this mobo but feel so disappointed now. I could have completed the build if I was not waiting on this board.

If you are having a large cooler, you might run into the issue that I experienced. If you own a 5700xt and a gen 3 riser, then you are out of luck too. Be careful

Corrosion in various areas of the motherboard 10/24/2019 12:09:16 PM

Cons: Came with corrosion causing several unfixable errors even when cleaned off

Overall Review: This was a product bought new, so I expected less corrosion. Corrosion/10
