Pros: - lots of header connection for the chassis fans and rgb header. - optional VRM fan you can install - supports wifi 6 - rgb lighting. ahem
Cons: - the screw for the VRM fans holder were too tight so I end up not installing the VRM fan that was included in the package. - the memory slots were closely placed close to the cpu. If you want to install an AIO pump like an NZXT AIO pump, you can't use the first bracket. If you want to use all ram slots and have NZXT pump, you better rotate your aio pump clockwise.
Overall Review: Would recommend this motherboard if you want good connectivity and overclocking performance.
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: The Following won't install under any driver version 1: Ethernet Controller 2: PCI Device 3: PCI Simple Communications Controller I have changed BIOS like 10x trying to see if any version of BIOS will trigger the above devices to be recognized. Nothing works... Asus admitted that these boards have faulty LAN adapters and offered to have me ship my board in for a repair. 7-10 days plus shipping time. They will only repair or attempt to repair before issuing out a new replacement. The customer has to pay for shipping to them. If you check the Asus RoG forums you will see tons of issues with the ROG series. Drivers, LAN adapters not working all kinds of crazy stuff people are trying. I'm returning this junk board and getting a ASRock or Gigabyte. Full disclosure, I have been a big fan of Asus going back to the 90's. I don't know what has happened in recent years but I don't care for it. I upgraded my i5 8600k on a ASRock to a i9 10th gen with this board and have been unable over 2 days of working it to get the LAN adapter online. I can't even install the latest Nvidia drivers for my RTX2080 and I think its linked to the board being a problem. Windows 10 64bit sees my video card as a Microsoft basic display adapter.
Overall Review: Stay away from this board, and do your homework if you are adamant about buying Asus.
Pros: -Ethernet not broken a previous reviews have mentioned. Thry must have fixed it. -Nice board with Overclocking functionality -Good bang for the buck -Board is paired with an i7-10700k an is working flawlessly.
Cons: -none at this time.
Overall Review: -Would recommend this product as long as the Ethernet port continues to work. -For the price of the board and the features you get, you can't go wrong. I have always been an ASUS board fan and this board does not disapoint.
Pros: Bought two of these and have had nothing but issues, had to reset BIOS 6 times on one unit still with no success. No support from either Newegg nor manufacturer, of course Newegg will not return and neither will the manufacturer. Typical scam.
Overall Review: DO NOT BUY!!!
Pros: Great overall performance and many slots, the BIOS is easy to use.
Cons: Ethernet controller I225V has a an issue with this board, it is a known issue, I now have to buy a separate ethernet card to fix this issue. It is said that Rev03 of the board has fixed this, however I got a Rev01. I am frustrated at this as I spent alot of time to find out the issue and figured out that I did not get the newly produced motherboards.
Overall Review: It is a great motherboard, everything works very well with it, except the ethernet controller, so plan to buy an extra Pcie ethernet card.
Pros: It looks pretty
Cons: ASUS's "intensive quality control, testing, and inspections" were on vacation the day this board made it out of the factory. It was dead on arrival with an A2 Q-code that couldn't be fixed, and got an RMA after about 10 minutes on the phone with support.
Overall Review: I've been buying ASUS products for years, and this is the first time I've ever had a defective part from them. Their RMA process is so terrible their own support team told me to go through NewEgg instead. I'll be very reluctant to buy ASUS again after this.
Pros: - M.2 support is great, used both slots and works flawlessly - Overclocked my i7-10700k to 5.1GHz easily, asus bios is great as usual - Plenty of space for RAM and installing the AIO cooler - Didn't get it for rgb, but it's actually kinda cool now that I have it, aura is easy to use - Wifi and bluetooth works great, just need to setup the antenna (a previous review said bluetooth range sucks, it does if you don't hook up the antenna)
Cons: - Can't get new 3080 cards, so I'm stuck with my old 970 haha - No boards have this, so not really a con, but only 2 usb 2.0 headers. My case has 2 usb 3.0 and 2 usb 2.0 ports, so that uses a header, and my corsair cooler uses a header as well. So getting any more rgb fan controllers means you have to get something to split up a header. No big deal though.
Overall Review: I've always liked asus, but this is the best board of theirs I've had. Love the bios and the features. I use the bluetooth plenty and it works great, which is a nice change from usb dongles I've been using in the past. I would definitely recommend this motherboard.
Pros: - Excellent mid-high level overclocking capabilities and features - Plenty of clearance around the CPU to fit a beefy air cooling tower (though you may have to leave the VRM fan off, which is no big loss IMO). - Plenty of fan/pump headers, most of which can be customized individually. - Plenty of USB ports on the back + headers for front I/O. - Easy-to-use BIOS - Status LEDs + code display for easy troubleshooting if needed - Colorful LEDs if you're into that sort of thing
Cons: UPDATE: motherboard would constantly get stuck in an S5 state while powering down (no matter the Windows 10 or BIOS settings) and then eventually stopped powering on altogether (stuck on Q-Code 00) after about 1 month of usage. Had to RMA it. - LAN and a few other pieces of functionality didn't work out of the box with default Windows 10 drivers, so I had to use the provided CD just to get online. - Using ASUS software (AI Suite, Armor Crate, etc.) to try and get the most out of this motherboard's features is generally a buggy and cumbersome experience. - One of the M.2 ports is obstructed by not just the GPU, but two stacked plastic/metal shrouds.
Overall Review: A little pricey, but if you have a higher-end CPU and want to overclock, this is a great motherboard for it. You can tell it's focused on OCing and cooling and does both of those things extremely well, along with being a very fully-featured motherboard in general. Hopefully the RMA works out.
