just curious how big a power supply this bad boy needs? you would think they would list this kind of info but guess that makes to much sense.

I think there is information out there if you Google it. I don't mess around myself and have an Antec HCP 1200 to power two of these (I was powering 3 GTX 680s with this PSU). I think an Antec HCP 800 would be sufficient for a single card, and I am sure this card uses a lot of power.

Question 2

Is anyone with this card having issues with random PC rebooting? Could be 5 times a day or once every 5 days.. Mostly in Word of Warcraft.. I am deciding to RMA and cannot figure out which piece of my hardware is failing. Replaced so many parts..

I'd suggest you reinstall your motherboard's chipset drivers. I've seen that cause rebooting if the chipset install gets corrupted.

On another note, I've never had so many problems with a video card as the R9 Fury Strix. The first two cards died within a week of receipt from Newegg, then past my 30 days I've had to RMA one cars 3 times. That's a total of 5 RMAs!

The problem with the last 3 cards has been defective display ports. Flickering, goes blank, and in one cars connecting an accessory panel to the DVI made the PC lock up...

At least one card has been solid, the warranty is good, and ASUS support is good. Good thing I had a working second card because ASUS started to question my troubleshooting practices... One card works great, the other doesn't, what so want me to do.. ASUS paid for the last two RMA return shipping labels. ASUS is a great company, but I'd steer people toward the R9 Fury X or R9 Nano. Anymore RMA's with these and I'll be asking ASUS if they'd be kind enough to replace both with an alternate product.

lets take the newest smallest board then make it so huge it most likely will only fit in a full size ATX case.

Question 4

How is this card with a FreeSync monitor? I have the 1440p ASUS one but running SLi 970's since G Sync is 200 bucks more... thinking of selling them and buyin this. Is FreeSync good as of today?

Hi, I have an Acer 34" curved Freesync monitor with this GPU, it is just awesome. I didnt even buy my Acer monitor becuase of freesync it was just an added bonus and now that I have it I can not go back lol. This GPU is perfect for my 3440x1440 resolution and my freesync operates at 30-75Hz, so on games that get way higher FPS than that I just use the frame rate target control at 75 frames.  Good luck!

Hi I was wondering what is the difference between this R9 Fury, and the ASUS R9 390. As far as I can gather, the 390 has double the VRAM, (8GB instead of the Fury's 4GB) and the 390 core clock is slightly faster as well. So other than these differences, and the price tag obviously, what makes the Fury better than the 390?

Unfortunately since DDR5 has been the standard for so long there is a misconception about how VRAM works. VRAM (and any kind of system RAM in general) is a buffer for data that is used to hold something in memory for the few moments it is needed. HBM has a transfer rate and bandwidth that is monumentally higher than traditional DDR5 found in any other card on the market. Thus, data is able to transmit faster through this "fatter pipe" and needs far less space to be effective. This combined with things like data compression and de-duplication that are more advanced on this card make it more effective still at holding that data.
This card will push higher framerates than a 390x and will do generally better on DX12. Consider it the first step of a new generation of graphics cards.
