Does this board support 13th Gen CPU out of the box?

Chances are you will need to update the BIOS first since the board was probably manufactured before the release of the 13 gen CPUs. I know this from first hand experience. This board does not have the USB Flashback feature so you will need to get the build to post to update the BIOS....which means you will need to first install a 12th gen CPU to get the build to post and then update the BIOS, After BIOS update install the 13th gen and chances are all will be good. There may be other options to update the BIOS such as RMA the board to ASUS or take it to a computer tech who has a 12th gen CPU.

your site says ddr4, asus site says ddr5, pcbuilder says ddr5. is your site wrong or are there two versions of asus tuf gaming z690-pluswifi?

Any Asus board that has D4 in the name will be DDR4 otherwise DDR5.

Does this board support 13th Gen CPU out of the box?

Mine did not, you can use the flashback feature without powering it on to update it.

So, there is a NVMe enclosure over the ssd. Should I buy a NVMe ssd with or without a heatsink? Would buying the ssd with heatsink still fit within the motherboard NVMe enclosure? I'm looking at the Samsung 980 Pro with heatsink. Thanks.

You'll have to remove the heatsink, there are thermal pads on the bottom of the MB heatsink

Does this support CPU overclocking?

Yes, this board supports overclocking. I find the BIOS to be very user friendly, coming from years using MSI products.
