Unleash the power of Ancient Greece with the Athena Power 400W PSU. It puts out 400W maximum power - just what you need for all your components. Athena includes backwards capability which allows it to be used with older motherboards, like the ATX V2.2. This PSU also includes a PCI Express 6-PIN connector for VGA card use. The Micro SFX includes dual fans for a cooler computer with reduced noise and ripple features.
The Micro SFX DesignMicro SFX power supplies are known mostly as a replacement power supply. But now, they have evolved to be used for mini-ATX cases, custom built computers, mini-servers and more. With the increase of wattage and efficiency, the micro SFX is a conventional PSU that can be used for multiple purposes.
Designed for custom built PCs, mini-servers, and HTPCsThe APOLLO 400Watt power supply will support the most current ATX motherboards V2.2 and lower. Its PCI-E 6-pin connector supports an additional VGA card. This PSU is ideal for custom-built PCs, mini-servers and HTPCs.
Dual FanWith its dual fans located at the front and back of the power supply, the rear fan takes in the heat produced inside the server or system and pushes it through the front fan, which is positioned towards the exit points of the server/system, keeping the motherboard and hard drives cool. This design allows the power supply to take 100% of the heat generated by the interior system and push it out of the server/system. While some other PSU fans work differently, this dual-fan set-up is designed to maintain a reliable source of power, keeping the system cool. Some may second guess this dual fan feature for fear it will increase noise volumes; however, with its thermal fan speed control, it will automatically detect the amount of heat generated by the computer and spin accordingly - reducing overall noise.
Pros: Good, solid power supply in a tiny package, 20A on the 12v+ line
Cons: Sleeve bearing fans =\
Overall Review: I have 2 other reviews on this PSU and just wanted to make a few updated comments. The sleeve bearing fans died after about 18 months of use. On two of mine, I could hear them whine during startup and on one, they just conked without warning. I found that the Sunon KD1206PHB1 (which can sometimes be found in stock here on Newegg) makes a great replacement fan, although they are a bit pricy. I just used sta-kon connectors to splice the two wires for each fan. Of course, opening them voids the warranty, but I'm not figuring on RMAing them after two years, especially just for fan replacements. One of my 3 PSUs died shortly after I replaced the fans and took the mobo with it. Fortunately, I was able to RMA the mobo. Anywho, the other thing I wanted to mention was that this PSU has been running a SFF rig with a s939 X2, 2GB DDR400, a 9600gso, SATAII HD, Optical drive & 4 fans. I have 2 identical rigs & they make it through hours of 3D gaming without a hitch. Awesome!!!!
