Question 1

What cables/cable sets did you use to install the Athena?  What does each attach to on the motherboard?

The rack holds 3 hd's, so you need 3 sata cables. You plug from the back of the rack to your motherboard. As for power, you only need to plug two. Two 15pin, the thin black one for sata HD, or two molex. The manual says you can mix, but I did not try.

Question 2

I plan to use it as JBOD, mixture of HDs,  one of them is SATA II. Will it be okay or compatible?

Should be no problem. This item is misidentified in that it does not really contain an electrical backplane. There are three SATA connectors on the back, one for each of the hard drives. Each hard drive is independent. By the way, this is a very nice drive cage.  Insertion and removal is very smooth, and each drive can be turned off individually. My only knock - the dual function knobs that are used to lock the drives in place are too small to be rotated easily.

Question 3

This will fit to any standard case?

I am needing to fit into a THOR V2 for extra HDD's if someone can confirm while still on sale I would appreciate it.

I have added a IOcrest PCI 4 port SATA expansion card which they would also connect to on a EVGA Z170 FTW motherboard.
