are the keys back-lit?

NO.  I was a little disappointed because I thought I had seen other images out on the internet that showed back-lit keys.  Overall, I'm pleased with they keyboard, nice and clicky, and stylish. The Caps Lock, NumLock, and Scroll Lock lights are quite bright, particularly since they stand out a bit from the keyboard, giving them a retro-light bulb look, even though they are LEDs.

Kailh blue switches. Very clicky and nice to use, but I've never owned a mechanical keyboard so I'm not an expert.
