Susceptible to heat 6/24/2015 6:29:58 AM

Pros: Looking good? :D

Cons: I also have MSI mobos, MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming to be exact. These RAM sticks are sporadic and cause reboots, freezes, BSOD, you name it, under both Windows and Linux.

I've been using Crucial products for over 10 years. This one really drops the ball. Wasted so much of my time coz I thought something was wrong with the PSU or Motherboard. Slapped in 2 sticks of Corsair, never a hiccup.

Overall Review: To remedy the instability issue, they must be geared down one notch: 11-11-11-31, 2t, and must NOT mix with any other ram. That's the only way memtest won't spit error.

Nonetheless, Crucial's reputation is sunk for me. I'll be quite hesitant to purchase their products again.

Second bad module in 4 months 4/27/2015 9:01:31 AM

Pros: Can't seem to find any pros

Cons: This is the second of these modules that has gone bad in the last four months, starting to get expensive replacing these. If I had more money I'd just replace them all and go with a different brand, not real impressed with Crucial products right now.

Good, but not working with MSI Z97-G55 9/1/2014 12:53:37 PM

Pros: Heatsink, fast speed

Cons: Causes crashes with MSI Z97-G55

Overall Review: I've tried several configurations for this memory but constantly get blue screen errors such as "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" even after testing timings, voltage, etc. Seems to just be incompatible. Interestingly, though, it works fine if only one stick is installed (does not matter which one.)

4x larger than before 8/15/2014 12:07:16 AM

Pros: Works flawlessly.
Has heat spreader.

Cons: None... it's 8GB of ram, and does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Overall Review: Old components were giving BSOD. Narrowed it down to CPU, MB, or RAM... so replaced all 3, along with HD and OS. (XP kept nagging me about it being unsupported.)
No more BSOD, and even simple tasks like browsing the internet are insanely smooth now.

Originally I was going to buy 16GB of this same stick in a dual channel kit.... but it's more than double the price.
Since I previously only had 2GB of ram, I decided one stick would do. If I change my mind later I can just buy another stick and not worry about if the timings are exactly the same.
