Pros: Runs 4500 18-21-21-40 @1.45V on Maximus XI Gene. Boot 4800MHz 18-24-24-40 @1.58V but did not test stability.
Cons: Very hot when gaming. You will need a ram fan.
Overall Review: Don't buy that 2x8GB kit, this 2x16GB kit is a far better choice! I have seen people boot 5200 with this kit!
Pros: I got this ram to run at 4400mhz. After figuring out the oc settings (MSI MEG UNIFY Z490), the ram performs flawlessly at 4400hz. I saw a 15-20 FPS difference from 2666mhz ram.
Overall Review: Great ram
Runs without errors on specified timings
Single sided Micron memory chips
Overall Review: Wow are these expensive! You get what you pay for though. This memory does not disappoint at all.
Overall Review: Tested with 5950x and Gigabyte X570 Xtreme - works like a charm.
Overall Review: I upgraded memory and already had a fast computer when I did.... this just took it to a whole other level. If I decide to add one more level of memory, I will gladly purchase this again
Pros: This kit will do what it says out of the box however not all motherboard bioss are created equally. It seems gigabyte has more problems than most. I cant get this kit to run the XMP timings but this doesnt mean XMP does anything more special than overclocking your ram manually. Im using an i9-9900T and gigabyte z390 UD on the beta bios as the capsule bios sucks. I can get this kit on 4 sticks running at 20-20-20-46. XMP will not work however this is not the rams fault as I am asking a lot of this type of processor and beta bios. It will work on faster equipment and my i9-10900k just fine! If timings are important to you then run 3600 at 16-18-18-38. It will post fine on all my systems at that speed with 4 sticks. Being that this ram is discontinued this is the best bang for your buck now.
Cons: The sticks may lay on each other because these sticks are pretty thick and some motherboards have closely spaced dim slots.
The ballistix non max line is thinner but super hard to find in 3600.
Overall Review: Ive bought 4 kits and working on my next 2 kits because they discontinued the ballistix name.
Pros: Worked right out of the box, no issues. No XMP issues and the ram tolerated timing adjustments.
Cons: None. Product works as intended.
Overall Review: During the testing process I had issues with the original ram kit that was selected with XMP, PC speed and timings. I changed to the crucial kit as it was closest to the QVL listed ram. After installation and setting timings/XMP the system operated as expected the ram's XMP rated speed. There were no physical layout issues or constraints due to ram dimensions.
This ram was used in a system with the following other layout,
ASRock B-550 phantom gaming ITX
AMD Ryzen 9 5950x
Gigabyte Aorus 3080 extreme
Lian Li TU150
Pros: Works perfectly at rate speed, stable, cool.
bummed that Crucial decided to discontinue ballistix line.
Overall Review: Excellent stable fast memory.
