COOLER MASTER RC-692-KKN3 CM690 II Basic Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a fantastic, sets-the-bar case. It has been extensively reviewed online... Google "CM 690 II review" and you can all but hold the thing. ALL the reviews focus on the advanced version, So here are all the differences from the CM 690 II BASIC in one place. Both models are the same exact exterior, paint, frame, etc. The BASIC version has: * ONLY TWO FANS; no top 140mm top exhaust, and front LED fan is 120mm not 140mm. * just the top two 5.25" toolless mounts instead of four. The rest use screws. * no dual 2.5" SSD adapter in the top 3.5" drawer. * no 5.25" to 3.5" two-piece bracket nor the 3.5" front mesh grill. * no multi-GPU support bracket / 80mm GPU fan mount. * no top SATA HDD dock or little removeable (loseable) smokey plastic cover. An "Accessory Bin" is in its place, the exact same shape and size.

Cons: * Airflow is pretty good with just two fans, but CM's dropping that front intake from 140mm to 120mm is unfortunate. Without a slightly high interior pressure, dust began to collect immediately. I use a controlled side intake fan, which solved the problem and shaved a few degrees. * The motherboard tray CPU cooler cutout fits my board (ASUS M4A785-M) just fine, but there are ALOT of complaints that this cutout is maddeningly misaligned. Check first if this is critical to you.

Overall Review: My budget was a strict "$100 shipped" for a case. If I'd known just how terrific a value this case is I would have found a way to spend the $20 more on the Advanced version... I'm going to have this case for a long time. Still, I'm glad for the BASIC version or I wouldnt have a CM 690 II at all. Get one or the other, but get one. here are some other notes: * The side panels are STRONG and both go on like butter, with two fingers and eyes closed. * Cable mgmt is delightful. I can easily fit my thumb between the tray and right hand panel. * The HDD and power lights are little pinpoint LEDs, both bright deep red. Its a nice effect. * The Front panel connectors and switches are acceptable quality. USB spacing is great! * One 120mm (not 140mm) fan can be mounted on the case floor without removing the bottom half of the 3.5" carriage. * The front 120/140mm fan can be repositioned. No support for two front fans. * Paint is very good. Every single screw, etc. aligned PERFECTLY

Pros: My CPU temps dropped 10 C and hard drives run at 29 C. Cable Management is fantastic, and the ability to access the heatsink backplate by removing the right side panel makes installing an aftermarket heatsink easy because of the no mobo removal needed!

Cons: Putting the right side panel on is tricky, and I still haven't gotten it on all the way, but I don't care too much.

Overall Review: To the reader who said the light on his fan did not work, there is a button at the top of the case to turn it on and off, which is nice.

Pros: Best thing that I could have at this moment, got this in a combo and boy I'm glad I did. Case is heavier than I thought from looking at the picture. Can support up to 10 Fans insane!! For only $69.00 can't be beat and all but one can support a 4 140mm fans. I got mine in a combo with a ASUS M4A78TD-V EVO board, best combo I bought so far period, as this is only my second official build.

Cons: None so far will update as time pass. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone who is on a budget, but not trying to sacrifice for great airflow and a reliable build.

Overall Review: Current build. ASUS M4A785TDV-EVO mobo OCZ Fatality 550W PSU AMD phenom II X2 555 Black edition(over clocked from stock 3.2 to 3.3 on stock HS fan, also unlocked all 4 cores which is the best thing of owning one at such a cheap price. ASUS Super-multi DVD drive. Hitachi 750GB SATA 7200rpm 32MB Patriot PC3-1333MH 2GB Currently running OB graphics chipset which is not back considering it has 1333mhz on sideport memory(updating to nividia's EVAGA GTX 460 SSC soon) Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit

Pros: Not too expensive. Case looks amazing. Feels very solid. Has everything you need and more included. Did I mention this thing looks sweet?

Cons: I asked it to loan me $20 and it said no. :(

Overall Review: Seriously, go buy this case. You will be happy with your purchase the second you lay hands on it. Air filters keep it clean, sleek design, and it's air flow is amazing even without many fans. I currently have my 2500k overclocked to the high heavens and don't have any additional case fans, yet it somehow manages to stay cool in there. I think it may be magical.

Pros: First Cooler Master case and it was a great experience. Built very well and looks nice all around. The case can be used for water cooling as well. The grill and coating makes it look like an industrial storage unit. Good price for an "entry" level case. Plenty of room in cable runways.

Cons: The power supply being on the bottom is kinda strange. Just not used to that.

Overall Review: A very good and well built case.

Cons: My cats hair is already starting to plug up the holes for ventilation. Luckily, it is easily wiped away and there are plenty of holes on this case.

Pros: Front Panel USB, SATA, audio connections, on/off fan light switch. Feet keep unit up enough even sitting on carpet. Was very easy to work with and install components lots, and I mean LOTS of room. Plenty of room for high profile CPU Cooler. Really like the Hard Drive and Bay Drive cages and toolless installation. Good cable managment system. This was my first build and I would highly recommend this case no sharp edges, quality material. Good circulation and air flow. I would buy this again without hesitation. Best case in this price range by far for all the features and fans. I spent hours researching the system with the most fans, etc and this unit won hands down.

Cons: Not as many bells and whistles as the advance, but hey they gotta add something for $20.

Overall Review: If you are going to need a conversion for a card reader or any other 5.25' to 3.5' definitly look at the advance for $20 more.

Pros: Looks amazing. Cools hard drives. No screwless mounting for the expansion card slots, thus allowing you to use things like those blower fans for expansion card slots. The first two 5.25" bays use screwless mounting, which makes CD drive installation quite nice. The side panel takes an extremely nice amount of fan sizes. You'll love this if you have many fans around.

Cons: The front panel can be hard to get off, and the top one can be even worse. The fans "groan", use sleeve bearings, and seem cheap.

Overall Review: To take off the top panel, take the side panels and front panel off. Then push on all of the 6 tabs that are neatly and deeply hidden on the 4 corners of the case and two on each side in the middle on the inside of the top of the case. You can then install two 120/140mm fans on the top. The fans seem to be rated at ~44 CFM at 20 dBA. Just keep in mind that if you don't like the fans, you can always replace them. NewEgg has a huge selection of fans and fan sizes. There's so many that you might even start looking through every fan they have available.
