Great little case for Mini-ITX builds, like A HTPC/Gaming rig. 7/15/2019 10:54:43 AM

Pros: USB 3.0 port in front I/O
Fairly compact shoebox (compared to a BitFenix Prodigy, that is almost like a mATX-sized case)
Enough space to accommodate a single full-size dedicated graphics card, which I did add later
Low-key looking, it looks like a small appliance (mini-fridge, microwave or oven)
Reasonably priced, I also managed to get the mail-in rebate back
Durable and free of sharp edges, I never got my hands cut by the case, and the case doesn't feel flimsy. Well done CM.

Cons: Front fan is rather loud when CPU is under load >70C. I definitely recommend swapping a quieter unit.
Not much options for installing more fans, other than the drive cage. I wished the outside panel had fan mounting options instead of being forced to mod it.
CPU cooler height clearance is limited due to the PSU placement on top of the case, I had to look for a Noctua low-profile cooler that was 70mm in height (listed case clearance was 65mm, however it is actually 78mm of max clearance, so I was good here)
Due to its' somewhat limited size, expect oven-like cooling performance. CPU idle temps are around 40-45C (load 80-90s) instead of 30-35C (load 70-80s) in a mATX or ATX case.

Overall Review: This case has a faux aluminum plastic panel that looks very slick yet low-key. My build started off as a HTPC powered by the Pentium G3258. As the years went by, I have added a dedicated GPU and swapped in an i5-4670K. It is now a decent compact gaming rig. You really don't need a ATX tower any more unless you need CrossFire/SLI capability, plus modern mini-ITX motherboards come with a lot of features these days.

Works great 6 years later. 10/2/2018 3:36:36 PM

Pros: Bought this case for a small office build in 2012 and it still is working fine in 2018.

Cons: 1) Front fan is a little loud 6 years later, but not awful.
2) Case is a bit big for a mITX case, and that was true even in 2012.
3) Front panel is a bad design and severely restricts airflow from the included 120mm fan, which is why I've taken off a single point from the rating.

Not very durable and smaller than expected in. 1/22/2016 6:23:40 AM

Pros: Ports on the front panel
USB 3.0
Space for optical drive

Cons: Built a pc for my son for Christmas and he had it for about a week before it broke. He had his headsets plugged in and forgot about them before walking off, pulled it off the desk. A huge chunk came out around one of the front usb port and pushed the port in. The fall was about 2 feet at the most on plush padded carpeting. There was nothing plugged into that port either. Also he has a fully modular psu and no graphics card yet (waiting to see this years offerings) yet space was tight for cable management. I really don't understand the reason for a panel covering the front fan either, but I wasn't willing to spend 20 more for a different front panel version. Not pleased, I doubt we'll even receive our rebate either.

Overall Review: I would not buy it again

Good, but not the best from Cooler Master 12/20/2015 10:51:06 PM

Pros: Size is obviously the big pro here. Still not too cramped if you plan things out a little. The faux brushed metal front makes for a nice look. 5.25" bay if you need it.

Cons: Not as well ventilated as the Elite 130. Likewise, the layout and thus the building experience are not quite up the standard either.

Overall Review: Recommended, however, if the price is comparable, I would suggest getting the Elite 130 instead. It's basically this case but better.

Sufficient for the price. 10/4/2015 12:39:03 PM

Pros: Nice finish, just enough space for everything you need, including a larger video card (I.E. GTX #60+ series)

Cons: One of the side fans started grinding loudly on boot up after less than a year of light use. Usually quits after about a minute, but can't imagine it will last in the long term.

Overall Review: You get what you pay for.

Case is great. For a MITX, it's roomy. 7/1/2015 11:40:42 AM

Pros: More space than I would expect for a MITX. Sturdy construction. The drive slides are a good fit. Plenty of room for a full-size video card. Nice, understated exterior.

Cons: 80mm included fan is as loud as... an 80mm fan tends to be. Pre-planning required, as accessing the MoBo after power supply is installed should be an activity reserved for small children and carnies. Fully modular power supply is nearly a requirement for this unit.

Overall Review: I bought this case after reading many of the reviews here, and on other sites. it seemed to be the best case for the money. Having installed my system now, I would recommend this case for nearly any MITX build that wouldn't be hampered by the long dimension. It's as long as a standard ATX case, more or less. but only a third as tall.

BE SURE TO PRE-PLAN YOUR DEVICES. I had to uninstall my power supply, because I forgot to plug a couple things in on the MoBo... Bad planning on my part. don't make the same mistake.

Other than that: It's beautiful. Good case, period. At the price: great case.

Nice mItx case 6/11/2015 9:19:27 AM

Pros: I've had this case for over 2 years and finally decided to build it out. I love that you can put a large video card and power supply in this unit. I also like that it gives you the option to install an optical drive. The other pro is the fact that they put little cut out loops on the chassis so you can use zip ties to manage the cabling.

Cons: It's not the smallest mITX case out there, but that's a factor of it's expandability. Also, cable management sucks if you have a non-modular power supply. I ended up hiding cables in the optical bay as well as under the hard drive cage. This definitely impacts the flow of air coming from the front fan. The other downside is the fact that the CPU is right under the power supply. You will definitely have to use a low profile cooler. I've stuck with the intel stock cooler since I'm only running a Pentium G3240 in this rig. There is just no way any kind of tower cooler will fit.

Overall Review: I purchased this on sale back when it was a shell shocker. Had I paid full price for it, I might be disappointed by its limitations. As it stands, it works well with a small power supply and Pentium CPU, and a full size GPU. I've been able to play older title games with good detail

Good looking ITX build 5/6/2015 1:09:29 PM

Pros: So hey! Great looking case, and fits a nice APU build, the extended area for dedicated daughter board GPU I've not tested. But it really is a nice start to small CE building.

Cons: CM has made their product presentation a lot less attention. Was very underwhelmed.
