The Cooler Master HAF XB EVO offers a perfect blend of design, performance and function in a unique cube design that stands out immediately. It comes in a dual-layer design to accommodate your high-performance components in an ultra compact footprint. You can cram an ATX motherboard, VGA card up to 334mm in length, and CPU cooler up to 180mm in height, and mix and match multiple ODD, HDD, and SSD to meet your storage needs. All the components are efficiently and effectively cooled thanks to the superb thermal solution, which already includes two pre-installed fans, meshed panels and can be upgraded in future with extra fans and water cooling. The motherboard tray can be removed for easy installation and debugging. And with the recessed handles, you can easily transport your gaming rig to a LAN party and show off your gaming prowess.
Removable Motherboard Tray
With the removable motherboard tray, you can easily transform the case into a test bench – ideal for enthusiasts and overclockers.
Flexible HDD/SSD Support
In addition to two 5.25" drive bays, this case supports up to four 3.5"/2.5" drives via the front bays. The HDD cages are also removable for enhanced convenience and flexibility.
X-dock Bays
Of the four HDD bays, there are two X-dock bays that allow easy access to your 3.5"/2.5" drives.
Upgradable Cooling Solution

Easy Maintenance
Dust filters helps prevent dust buildup that may compromise cooling or even cause damage to your components. And the filters can slide out easily, making cleanup a breeze.
Easy Front I/O Panel
Two USB 3.0 ports and two audio ports located on front panel allow for easy connection to peripherals.
Pros: Fantastic airflow, of course. No QC issues or damages. Good memory expansion room. Fits a Sapphire Nitro + 5700xt after moving the case fans from inside their original bracket to outside (still inside the case and covered by the front panel). Fits Noctua NH-U14S CPU cooler.
Cons: The optical bays will go unused by a lot of modern builders, so it would be cool to see a conversion kit or version that used them for more memory storage, however that won’t apply to everyone.
Overall Review: If you like the LAN box/Test bench style of case, then this is a great option and I would recommend it. Just realize that with such an open air case, it will collect dust faster than most normal cases.
Pros: This thing is laid out really nice, easy to work on, quality built. Fans are very quiet.
Cons: Paint could be of a higher quality, or maybe another coat... it's nice but I already have a small chip from normal use.
Overall Review: I might not have to buy another case again seeing that this one is meeting all my expectations and then some.
Pros:
Small Size lets it fit in printer cubbies on desks, but still use ATX mobos
Top and Side Panels are removable for unrestricted access
Removable mobo tray for cable running/accessory additions
Surprisingly light for how sturdy it is
Plenty of HDD/SSD locations with 2 hot swaps
Disk Drive slots for us psychos that still have CDs
Handles are sturdy and easy to grip, makes for simple carrying
Cons:
Only one real configuration for a 240mm Radiator
Doesn't come with many fans, and I think the top panel fan is a requirement
200mm fan on the top panel is a special screw config, not all fans will work, and they don't tell you that anywhere in the documentation
Mobo tray was warped, I was hesitant to attach my mobo to it until it was fixed in the case
Not a whole lot of cable management, but most of the cables run under the mobo anyway, so it's not a huge issue.
Overall Review:
It's a good case for space conscious people that want to use full ATX motherboards. It fits very well in the printer drawer of my 3 piece executive desk. Which means that I am squeezing 2 functional desks out of the monstrosity that is this piece of furniture, helpful for this whole work from home atmosphere.
The case absolutely needs every available fan for airflow, which means shelling out for a couple 80mm fans and a 200mm fan. I think the 200mm should come stock on this case as it has a special screw pattern that not all fans will fit, so you have to pay attention to screw configurations. They don't tell you what that pattern is anywhere in the included docs either.
There's not a whole lot of adjust-ability for radiators either, so if your GPU and CPU both run their own, be aware that only one 240mm radiator can fit on this case. Use multiple 120mm or get as massive a heat-sink style CPU cooler as you want, there's PLENTY of overhead in this case.
The removable mobo tray is great for install. Set your motherboard up on the tray, and run cables separately without worrying about snagging anything important. That said, mine was warped, and I was hesitant to fully attach my mobo to the tray outside of the case. I didn't want to subject my board to that twisting force, so I needed the case screws to hold the tray straight.
All of the SATA drive mounts are stupid simple to use, I love it. Very straight forward and still secure feeling. The motherboard being so high, and all the important drives and PSU being around the inner perimeter allows for lots of cables to be run together through the middle without interrupting airflow to those important bits. Basically every component gets a dedicated fan slot, so while there aren't many fans, they are used well. Do actually use all of them though, buy whatever 80mm fans you like at the same time, they're cheap. I'm going to repeat that CM REALLY should include the 200mm fan for the top panel, it has a non-standard screw config and they don't spell out exactly what the pattern is called anywhere. Just include the friggin' fan.
Overall, I am very happy with it, my issues with it are small niggles, minus the mobo tray being warped, that could be a costly problem for someone. And the 200mm top panel fan, it really should be used at all times with this case, and it's not a standard pattern, it clearly really bothers me. It's a sturdy, small case that let me compress my full ATX rig down to a manageable and semi-portable size. Great for small spaces, people who move frequently, or people who still do LAN parties.
Overall Review: I decided to purchase this chassis instead of a normal tower...I'm glad I did..lots of rooms for fans, expansion, maintenance is easy...not as pretty as a tower but still superior in other ways
Pros: Lot of space makes your build easy to access everything.
Cons: My processor is liquid cooled and it has a radiator so with my Zotac GTX 1070ti Amp Extreme being so large, I had to mount my radiator on the outside of the box and cut all the front mesh out to make it work. Now the box isn’t nearly as pretty.
Overall Review: Overall I would recommend this cooler because it has a ton of options for fans everywhere. Not everyone will have an oversized graphics card but if you do, this is something to think about.
Pros: Easily removeable MOBO tray, big open interior space to work with.
Cons:
- Basement (Bottom level) can be hard to work in without removing MOBO.
- Sata cable connection and the little board for the hot-swap tray is DIRECTLY across from where the PSU' cables are, meaning they get in the way. Awkwardly spaced and not a very smart design.
Overall Review: I love this case overall, and would recommend. Make sure you finish tidying up ALL the cables in the basement area, pre-run any SATA/power you plan to use later and thank yourself. Otherwise you might have to take the MOBO tray out to work on anything!
Pros:
lot of room all metal except for front end
big
Overall Review: great case little bit bigger than i thought but more room to grow

Pros: -Open design actually allows for high air flow
-Segmented top and bottom is good for hiding cables
-One of the few cases left on the market with 5.25" support and it has 2
-Ample room for routing cables with plenty of tie down loops
-PSU bracket juts out from the back of the case about 1/4" to help with cable routing
-Lots of drive support
Cons: -Removing the front panel is a chore as it is held down by 6 clips that all want to be pushed at the same time
-Cannot fit most tower CPU coolers with a top fan installed *This was compromised on by using the Noctua NH-C14S and it is just as good as a standard tower cooler*
-This is a revision of the original and the hotswap PCB is the replacement version. This means that the SATA cable points perpendicular to the floor of the case and requires a little bending of the PCB in order to get them to clip in properly.
Overall Review: If you want a case with 5.25" support, good air flow, lots of drives, and a unique design in a small footprint for a hard to beat price this is the case to buy.
