Is the 5.25" Bay for a DVD Drive, and if so where is the eject?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it has a standard 5.25 drive bay that's for a DVD drive, fan controller, memory card readers, hot-swap hard drive bay, a water cooling reservoir tank, switch panel and so on. It comes with an insert that just pops out if you're going to use it. This case uses a standard size DVD drive and the eject is on the face of the drive, not the case.

can i fit a full modular power supply in this?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  I found pics that show a 1200W PSU installed. I have not built into this case yet.  However, there are no brackets or framing that appear to hinder installation of a large PSU, even if it is NOT modular.  Mount points are on the front of the case.  Hope this answers your questions.

Question 3

Can I use a regular ATX power supply with this? Or do I need a small one in size?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I have not built mine yet, but I know that these were designed to use ATX PWR and full size graphics.  The only limited component is the MB and coolers. If you are thinking of going larger than 850W you should check the dimensions and specs to be sure they will fit.  I'm referring to rectangular PSU of 1200W or so.

Question 4

I see a lot of fan capability. Would you consider this a quiet system noise wise?

Definitely though it comes with just a single fan in the back if I recall correctly.  The power supply is in the front so that will draw air in from the front.

I use one of these for my router and the other for a TV-PC and both are quiet case-wise.

Just wondering how they got that asus dcii in the middle 915 in the "stacked" picture. Was there a pci 3.0 slot there or something?

i was specifically referring to the diagram that stated endless possibilities where it has a cpu with a cpu heatsink and ssd on the bottom stacker, but the middle one contains a 3hdd cage, as well as what appears to be a asus graphics card i was just wondering if there were 2 seperate mobos which is what i am concluding to im still not sure where the 2nd psu is in this case since the stacker 915r contains the rear mounted psu and a center mounting area for a mobo.

This case uses an mini ITX motherboard?  Do those boards use server memory?

Accepted Answer

Server memory as in ECC memory? It's doubtful the motherboard you're planning on using will support ECC memory which is usually supported only by multi-processor motherboards.

If you're concerned about memory errors make sure to verify the functionality of any new system you build with a utility like MemTest86+ and allow it to run a full test for multiple passes.

You can also underclock your system to provide added margin for setup timing for bus transactions.

You can periodically re-run the mem test utility to check for failures that may show up later in the systems life.

Last, and not least, ground the case and yourself with an anti-static strap before assembling your system.  Do not assemble the system in a carpeted area or other area prone to generate or retain static electric charges or while wearing static generating clothes like fleece pullovers.

Static electricity causes damage to the components of your system that may take years to show up.

Question 7

According to the specs, it says this case has 3 x 3.5" drive bays, one of them being in the optical drive bay. It also says it has one 5.25" optical drive bay. What this means from my interpretation is you can mount 3 hard drives and one optical drive. From the looks of it though, if you mount a hard drive in the optical bay, you won't be able to use it for an optical drive. Am I just mounting a HDD incorrectly? Seems like deceptive specs to me...

No you cannot use the optical drive and a hard drive in the same spot,  Now I can't recall but I think the 915r (The one with the power supply on the back of the case) that one comes with a hard drive bay with 3 slots. now I don't know how many hard drives you are wanting to put in the computer if you're only need to put one there is A place to put a 3 1/2 inch hard drive in between the motherboard and the power supply, if you had a ssd those you can pretty much put those everywhere

Hy the picture of 915R show me the.HD bays comr with the case but this one 915F is empty inside. Not coming. Withs this mount drives?
I buy 935 an I want add 915F just for hard drives 
Please helpme with this if I can add 3 more hard drives mount.

The 915F comes with a small bracket on the side that bounds 1 SSD and 1 hard drive, then another drive can be mounted on the bottom between the power supply and motherboard. The 915R works better, because it has the bays. The bays from the 935 are supposed to transfer to either the 915R/F for even more drive space.

Is the HAF Stacker compatible with the HAF932 case in top or bottom mount positions?

The 915f nor the 915r are compatible with the HAF932 however... Both the HAF 915F and the 915R can be mated to ether the top or the bottom of the HAF935 case.

Question 10

I know that this is a mini ITX case but have any of you tried a micro atx board?  Ideally I am planning on a full size power unit (500W) in the front, three drives in the middle and the board in back.

not enough room for 3 drives.  I used a mini itx board as well so I can't answer on the micro atx question.  I used this case to build my VMware environment which I server over NFS.  I only have a MB/CPU/RAM and SD Flash card reader in it.  Sorry I can't be of more help.  I like the case though.
