The Das Keyboard 4Q starts with the iconic industry standard Das Keyboard 4 Professional, adds Cherry MX RGB Brown mechanical switches, and then elevates it to a smart keyboard. Control your internet of things (IoT) devices directly from the keyboard or push your important information and notifications straight to your keyboard creating a visual dashboard. The tried and true performance of the Das Keyboard 4 combined with the new smart command center makes this Das Keyboard 4Q an extraordinary creation tool that keeps you operating at your highest level.
Pros: Looks nice, except when brand new RGB backlighting does not work and indicates a design problem.
Cons: RGB Backlight worked for 10 mins.
No way to customize the lighting - they do have a brightness button, but that stops working too.
Need to install buggy bloated Q software, create a cloud account, then install several extra programs ( in addition to the Q software)
Keys have considerable slop in them - they wiggle left and right at least a 16th of an inch.
Press is full throw.
"L33T" Kickstand - does not change the angle of the keyboard very much. Read about 8 degrees.
Overall Review: Overpriced, poorly engineered, pretty garbage. (it's loud too, not CLACK, but definitely a loud click if you type fast or quickly.
Great for typing, RGB controls busted right out of box6/7/2019 3:24:41 PM
Pros: Typing on a Das Keyboard keyboard is always a great experience, and this keyboard is great for typing. The feel of the keys is outstanding. The most impressive thing was the fantastic customer service from Beach Audio (the seller). The keyboard was defective as received, and they were extremely good and efficient in handling the return.
Cons: The RGB portion of the keyboard, which is really the main reason for paying extra for RGB lights, did not work right out of the box. The keyboard was stuck on extreme high all green. Couldn't change or modify it in any way. The Das Keyboard help desk was very little help, and only agreed to let me return it after a lot of work on my part. I just returned it to the seller for a refund, working directly with Das Keyboard was a pain.
Overall Review: Once the RGB situation is fixed, I think this will be a great keyboard. I will buy another one after I get this one returned and refunded.
